You’re talking Jacoby Mathews situation but using Jordan Mathews name I think????!
Jacoby was ours to the 11th hour and then bolted to atm for the $$$ after clowning a month prior about how they were handing out money like water.
Jordan never really considered LSU, he was really Texas until late, and started trending Tenn late where he eventually signed.
Jacoby >>> Jordan
Still stinging over Jacoby’s flip late, we’ll not flip but waffling in the last days of cycle
He’s played meaningful snaps at atm and Jordan hasn’t at Tennessee
Jacoby got Gilbert’s job once he was injured, I still thought he’d be the first to jump ship once the boat atm was sinking but he’s unwavering, must have a helluva of a NIL contract and is starting for the coach that was there during his recruiting in E

I don’t remember his name at any camps or in any camp performance write ups. I’ve learned to pay attention to the off season camps when it comes to WRs and DBs.

Yeh I misread, because I saw TXam post a little down board, but I don’t think he was looking to stay instate, but he was all Tenn at the end. Don’t think he’s got the Dawg in him though he’s fast. I think Kelly didn’t get after him until it was a Tenn trend, but he isn’t setting the world on fire up there, but hey neither did our CBs this year.

These kids and their parents need to get over having their feelings being hurt because a school isn't showing them as much "love" as they apparently crave.

First of all, the coaches don't "love" you. They want you to play football. Plain and simple. If they offer you a scholarship, that's proof they want you, which should be all the "lovin'" you need.

disagree. relationships matter. a coach that believes in you offers early. a coach that misses on thier REAL choices offers late. its that simple.
Kids want to go play for coaches that believe in them. its a motivation factor as well as a decent foot in the door for getting on the field.

for example... believe in a kid??? youre willing to watch him play through mistakes and teach him.

settle for a kid? never makes it past 3rd string because of that same mistake the other guy made

Which one are we talking about? Jacobys situation was easy. We threw a bag at Harold Perkins. 8&4 threw a bag at Jacoby.

LSU has had more than a few recruits who were offered late, only to go on to significant college careers and the NFL. They simply proved to the coaches that they deserved the scholarship, and earned the playing time.

Yes, relationships matter, but the kids who feel they have something to prove will develop those relationships pretty quickly if they prove they can play.

I told you, Jacoby Mathews needed to get out of La and away from those people with their hands out at every corner. Idk why you’re still asking about it

Listed at 6’2, 185 with 10.66 100M track times — that would be nice to have at corner right now.

His technique was sloppy and he didn’t dominate the way a D1 should, but his raw talent was undeniable and the coaching staff should have recruited him harder. Player just needed some fine tuning.
