Kelly “we feel good about retention” along the Dline,

Kelly’s presser - On defensive tackle, Brian Kelly said any other transfers have to match or be better than Shone Washington. He checked a box for #LSU. That, and "we feel good about retention."
LSU seems to be hanging on to more players on the defensive side than most teams in the portal and draft. Interested to see who Kelly hires among his defensive staff that will better develop his defense.

I heard Kelly's presser and it sounds like the big boys, Smith & Wingo are coming back to wreck stuff. Sounds good. We will definitely need them.

Sad thing is they all suck besides wingo doesn't matter who comes back they are horrible, we needed fresh meat there

Smith started coming around at the end of the season. Here's hoping he comes back born again for his finale, he and we both need it.

I think Smith looked like a guy coming off a major injury and wasnt quite ready to go. Another offseason, and ill feel pretty good about him paired with wingo

Who doesn’t love it. It is what is behind them if they are on the field longer because the offense won’t be as dominating then the injury bug what if’s.

I'm hoping the lack of transfer d-linemen now means that Kelly expects his new DC and/or DL coach to lure one or two defensive linemen in the spring portal from his current school.

Yes, very strange that players on the most embarrassing defense in the country were not a hot commodity in the transfer portal

That is the key IMO. These two will 'eat' on the presence created by the other. Add guys like Womack, Swinson and others on the edge, with an improving Guillory in the DT rotation & Shand, and this GROUP has the potential to be VERY good in 24. All about continued development/coaching. Get it done Tigers.

Only one direction for the defense to go compared to last season. They were godawful. I will be surprised if House stays.
