I love how all the photos of these “black panthers” are usually an iPhone 4 from 300 yards away and they are going to say for sure what it is.

but jaguars can be black and "migrant" jaguars have been in Tx and AZ before.

The mountain lion/panther groups on Facebook are a lot of fun to read through when you're bored.

I bout got fooled like this two days ago. Sitting on my Mom's couch in KY looking out of her living room windows at the steep mountain directly in front of her house. I see a black feline moving around behind some mountain laurel. It looked enormous and I jumped off the couch to get a closer look out the window. Turns out it was the neighbors male house cat once I saw the white paws. The mountain is steep but the horizontal distance was only 50-60 yards according to Google Earth. Made him look huge.
