In this new era of CFB starting next year, will there ever be another national champion not in the SEC or BIG10? I know recruiting rankings don't always mean much but take a look at this:

(current rankings)

SEC (all 16 teams in the top 40)
1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Texas
7. Auburn
8. Oklahoma
11. LSU
13. Tennessee
16. Florida
17. A&M
20. South Carolina
21. Ole Miss
24. Mizzou
25. Kentucky
28. Arkansas
36. Miss State
40. Vandy

BIG10
5. Ohio State
6. Oregon
14. Penn State
15. Michigan
18. USC
19. Nebraska
22. Wisconsin
29. Purdue
33. Iowa
35. Washington
37. Rutgers
38. Minnesota
39. Maryland
43. Illinois
48. Michigan State
59. Indiana
68. UCLA
94. Northwestern

Of course a Big 12 or ACC school could make a run in a 12 team playoff

Utah will win the BIg 12 next season, IMO.

Maybe Washington will win the NC this season. That's who I am pulling for.

The real fun will begin once the B10 and SEC start contracting and kicking out original members.

We not comparing NY6 bowls to a 12 team playoff

But yeah with the conferences getting bigger, I wonder if we’ll start seeing de facto promotion and relegation via the conference schedules… for example Georgia’s will be heavily skewed towards the other top teams in the conference, while Vanderbilt would play all the other bottom feeders, with all games counting equally, and the teams that are winning getting harder schedules over time and vice versa

I mean, no one saw Clemson becoming the second most dominant program in 2014.

Obviously they will have a conference champ in there at least, possibly 2 teams from big12
