Willie’s problem

Is this team too talented and dare I say it too healthy for Willie to properly coach?
Its almost as Willie is struggling choosing which guys to put on the floor due to our health and depth. In the end the Willie guys (Naji, Herb) are getting substantially more minutes than guys who would help this offense and team be better (Trey, even Hawkins). We took 25 threes tonight- which is insanity considering the guys healthy we have this on team.
Willie’s “fight” message was appropriate when this team was undermanned but this team needs a strategy and a tactian now which Willie can’t do. At the end its a simple question- Whats the identity of this team? And I honestly couldn’t tell you.

My two biggest gripes with Willie:
1) Timeouts. He simply does not call timeouts when needed and oftentimes leads fully disappear before he calls one. Should have called one on the final possession last night also to draw up a play because Memphis had all the momentum.
2) He’s to steadfast in his set rotations, he will not deviate from them at all. I can see putting defensive guys in to see if they can slow the other team down, but when you have a case like last night where Memphis was still scoring at will bring in 5 scorers and go toe to toe with them.

To me both of those boil down to Willie’s biggest flaw “in-game adjustments.” He is by far the worst coach when it comes to this. Thats the reason this team has blown 7 double digit leads this season.

If I were Willie, I wouldve been in a refs ear the entire second half asking for them to call fouls on both ends,
when Ja caused that late turnover, he slapped the heck out of the back of JV's arm.
this is no longer a game where fouls get called for contact. Fouls are called when you ask for them, while selling that the other player forced contact. It's been worse this year than any other with a bunch of young refs.
I dont want to blame the refs for last nights loss, there was much more that went into it than them.
Long story short, if the other side is getting more calls than my side. I am making sure I am at the refs hip ever second I get the chance.

He was fine. Willie just mismanaged the rotations. I think when Ja got rolling Willie went more defebse with Herb, Dyson and Naji. Basically, cutting Trey’s minutes for no reason for defensive role guys.

All that not using curse words doesn't fly as a NBA coach. Sometimes your players need to be cursed out to get there focus and Refs for sure need to be cursed out. With how bad Zion, BI, and Val get officiated Willie should lead all coaches in techs and should have at least been ejected from a game. That is how you get the league attention. Because all that being respectful to refs don't do shite it lets them know they can screw you with no repercussions. That is why I wished we hired Sam Mitchell as a assistant coach we need someone on staff that would get on the players and Refs we have to many nice guys on staff. I know Mitchell would be all on Zion we he is out there giving no effort.

I'm tired of seeing Willie get out coach.
His rotations are horrible and he is killing the confidence of our young players.
He is treating Hawkins just like he did Trey and Hawkins is a shell of himself.
Naji and Jose or getting way to many minutes, there is a reason why these guys went undrafted. They can be good in spurt, but you can't depend on them every night to have big games.
Willie leaves BI on the bench way to much in the 4th quarter and Dyson and Hawkins should be getting more minutes.

He is one of the worst head coaches in the league. Great players coach from the sound of it but terrible with execution and I wish they would let him go now and promote Borrego for the rest of the season to see if he is the long-term answer or not. We know Willie is not.

helped with the exact numbers, but on the broadcast during the Grizzlies game they threw a graphic up that said that before that game, the Pels had lost 7 after leading by double digits... simple addition AFTER the Grizzlies game, and you arrive at 8... not sure where he's only getting 6, but here we are
i even commented on us losing, after the Grizz loss, that we had lost 8 after a double digit lead, the same night as the game, before the "reddit thread", but whatever
