what changed his mind

I'm guessing he had a 1x1 with Kelly and they... aligned... on what he wants his role to be and what LSU needs him to be. Doesn't really matter who won that negotiation as long as they both hold up to the agreement.

Fans like to bash him but he’s one of the few who is consistently available week in and week out.

Got beat on a deep ball by Brian Thomas I believe. Kelly probably just helped correct some leverage techniques. Steeples was coaching though fwiw

This is a stupid take. I’m sure there’s never been a man in the business world to test the waters of other opportunities to find what’s best for him? College football is a business. We might not like it as fans, but to criticize guys for doing exactly what we would do to find better opportunities in our line of work is hypocritical.

He should be on offense or at a deep safety position. He needs to face the ball and be put in a position to go get it. He is solid at playing a man and reacting to his movements, but can’t handle the top tier receivers one on one. He can find the ball and go get it if you put him at a deep/free safety type position.

At this point we know he's an underperforming (relative to expectations) merc. I'n conflicted, but if he's fully in alignment, ok....

Glad he is staying. I don't think he has played up to his potential yet. Hope he balls out next year.

Another year of experience isn’t gonna keep him from getting Moss’d because of his size.
