Is it going to be on campus?

What do they do with Mike while the construction is going on?

Money first has to be raised to move the track facility. Then new arena in that spot. PMAC stays in place long term
Not sure I think that will happen. Most of the plans have shown a gut and remodel of the PMAC.

Look at post on Texas from page 1, spot on- it will be built where track stadium is-if this is pulled off it is a BOOM for BTR and LSU. TAF has approved moving forward and AD is on board. Just need to get contracts sorted out.

If they can demo buildings for the new library, then they certainly can demo a track facility for a new arena.

Bernie Moore will be moved to the LSU golf course, along with the Natatorium. Indoor track facility should be built into the outdoor facility. Current funding needed for T&F is $20 million, which is not a whole lot for the outdated facilities. Not sure how much swimming & diving would need. I assume something less because it won't require as much space. Here's the tour of their $15 million outdoor facility. Includes offices/weight room/locker room/EVERYTHING that could futureproof the T&F program for decades, minus the occasional cosmetic upgrades.
Inside the ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS’ $15,000,000 TRACK & FIELD Facility | Royal Key
Since LSU is finally doing away with the whole "keep athletic facilities in the confines of campus" model it should be no problem to get these projects going. Just need to convince donors to pony up the funds.
I have no idea the actual plans of Bernie Moore/Carl Maddox/Natatorium but I imagine that Bernie Moore will be turned into a parking lot or some type of outdoor activity area. Maybe both.
As far as I know, Carl Maddox can't be torn down because it's a hurricane shelter, but you can easily keep the bleachers in there and add basketball court flooring. This can be shared with volleyball and basketball. Maybe volleyball gets their own stuff? I also think there can be some use with the old tennis courts behind Carl Maddox. That whole area lacks parking for a lot of events, including gameday. Making it a paid lot for football makes too much sense. Including the grass area behind it.
We should see the T&F renovations done by 2026 if we're lucky.

That has already been renovated. It’s now where the beach volleyball team plays.

I'm talking about the practice courts.

I had forgotten there was another set of practice courts back there. I was referring to the former tennis facility. Been a while since I was over there.

Partially true, they have the “money” for new arena, being built by 3rd party who gets rights for all concert revenue from it. If done correctly a win win for LSU and BTR! Much better concerts and a modern arena. PMAC used fro special events and practice gym etc. TBA shortly.

I went to a concert at the Moody Center in Austin and it's incredible. They did a great job of building it for both concerts and sports. Other cities have shown that if you build a first class concert venue, the music acts will seek it out to play. Another great example of this is the Armory in Minneapolis.

I was just in Mcneese's new arena. The $41 million, 145,00 square foot complex is home to the McNeese men and women's basketball and volleyball teams. The main basketball arena seats 4,242. We could do something about twice as big and it would be perfect. That arena was rocking because of the intimate setting. Seats on top of the floor meant the noise was trapped. It got super loud with only 4k people. 8-9k with the acoustics in mind and LSUs new place would be deafening. No need for all the extra seats, just add comfort and wins and the revenue will flow.
