The coaching candidate pool this offseason is going to be very dearth

Let me start this post by saying I think and support the notion that DA needs to be fired. But I also know that before you fire a coach, you should examine the market to determine if there is/are candidates out there available who will be just as good or better as replacements. No competent organization fires a coach without having an idea as to who they would like to pursue as their next coach. And unfortunately for the Saints, there will be many head coach openings in the league this offseason and we will be at the bottom of most top candidates lists due to not having a QB and an aging roster. I think this is why DA stays another year. Believe it or not, we could fire DA and end up with an even worse coach. The candidates are slim pickings and why would Ben Johnson or someone of his caliber pick New Orleans over LA?
TL;DR version: we’re fricked because we can’t get just any coach we want and the market for new coaches sucks this year. We’re stuck with DA at least another year.

Chargers have no fan base.
Owner is cheap and nobody wants to play for them (see Eli Manning).
Play in the same division as Kansas City and Denver, so not likely making playoffs anytime soon.
Herbert has a big arm, but isn’t a winner.
New Orleans is more attractive because we are exact opposite of all that and GM isn’t going anywhere, so you would have support of management.
This is a great job to have.
ETA, way less in income taxes.

And Sean left because..? It’s not an overly attractive job to outsiders

That is a horrible sentence.
Better choices
"There will be a dearth of coaching candidates this offseason" if dearth is a new word to you and you just want to use it in the sentence.
Or substitute the adjective diluted, slim, or sparse for the noun dearth.

Saints should offer 13 mil a year to Michigan HC. He wins in playoffs. He knows how to coach.

He left because he had been here for 15 years and the job was stale and he needed a break and a new challenge. Similar to other guys like and Urban Meyer in NCAA or Parcells in the NFL.

Because lets give more of a reason for Goodell to hate us and the NFL to screw us lol

I believe this was the main reason. I also believe Roger and the nfl had no love for him as a Saints HC and he knew it. And the break you speak of was only because he was under contract with the Saints and could not work anywhere else for three years. He also started the whole mess by looking into a HC job at Miami while employed by the Saints.

I want belecheck for 5+ years. Build the roster back up. Promote from within. Fire loomis in the process.
Or let Bill become our GM. That's what I want.

Saints HC job
Negatives:
1. Oldest roster (many of our best players will be retiring and/or are declining).
2. No long term WB
3. Salary cap restrictions
4. GM who is so aggressive in the draft that he loses most trades.
5. Winnable division but winning in playoffs will be hard bc teams are going to be more talented most of the time.
Positives:
1. Best young QB’s are in the AFC
2. Non-meddling owner
3. GM team that is above average in drafting but has notable whiffs due to over aggressive approach
4. Weak division
I guess it depends on what someone is looking for.

Bill has been terrible as GM and drafting these last few years. Hard pass.

sorry Sun, but that is not a complete reason - we all know he left, because Drew was retiring and he did not want to have to try and rebuild it back up.
is why he went to Denver - established QB, who has had success.
fact is, I thank Sean for what he did for us, but he fricking bailed when the going was going to get tough - and left us swingin in the wind

It would be next to impossible for him to be worse historically speaking.

Try looking up Bill Parcells head coaching timeline. Payton leans on Parcells for advice even to this day.
quote:
But most of all, he keeps the pressure on himself – 14-hour days, six days a week. And on the seventh day he rests, a mere 12 hours.
Does he really need to work 14-hour days?
"Yes, sir. Maybe more. If you want to stay competitive, this is one of the most competitive businesses there is," he says. "It's my life. It's my blood. It's how I'm measured."
After that season, Parcells had it. He said his coaching fire had burned out, and he retired. But then, last year, at the age of 61, he came back, to spur the Dallas Cowboys to their first playoffs in four years. And nothing had changed.

Payton hired into a complete shitshow in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina & signed a free agent QB they weren't sure could even throw a football again at that time. But he bailed when things got tough?
We are lucky Al Davis brought him McDonald's for lunch at his interview with the Raiders otherwise he doesn't even take the Saints job to begin with.
