Over the last 50 years the wives of democrat presidents have received far more attention than the wives of republican presidents. Dem First Ladies also seem to force their way into politics, legislation, and social movements far more than republican First Ladies. I feel like this is one of the biggest differences we see in women in this country. Dem women feel they are important because their husband has accomplished something. Repub women seem more content being a mother, wife, and a supporter of their husband. Is this a conservative/liberal difference in women or has it just been coincidence with women that are First Ladies?

Hillary Clinton is obviously number one as far as politically involved First Ladies, but Nancy Reagan was number two

Oh, and then, there's that thing about Melenia never making a magazine cover while Michael Obama made 131.

The left are some petty sick fricks.

Yes, she easily was. Who do you think was number 2?

Ever heard of ‘Just Say No’ and the war on drugs?

She was used for marketing purposes doesn't mean she had much say on the actual policy like we think of HRC (Hilary Care) and Big Mike.

Though I think I heard one of Carter's kids tell a story at her funeral about how she would talk policy so much with Prez Carter that he told her to just join him in his cabinet meetings. Yeah frick that.

I see Desantis' wife being one that will get involved in more than she should. Though she might get pissy she isnt getting the Jackie Kennedy treatment by the anti-Right media.

In my book, Melania was the ideal beautiful first lady. Id take Laura and Barbara Bush too.

Try calling your babe, your First Lady.

They’ll be all up in your face, “whos the second? “

Someone should do a side by side picture comparison for the last 75 years.

Have you ever heard of Eleanor Roosevelt? Edith Harding? Edith Roosevelt? Rosalynn Carter? Abigail Adams? Dolley Madison? Michelle "Big Mike" Obama? "Dr." Jill Biden? All of these First Ladies were much more politically active in their husband's administration than Nancy Reagan, who was merely the face of a slogan.

During the 4 years of Trump the magazine covers at the grocery check out featured Michelle Obama more than Melania Trump by about 10 to 1.

Tipper Gore tried to shut down (censor) all music with explicit lyrics such as rap. Wonder where she is this morning ?

Pretty sure Tipper Gore didnt try to "censor" or "shut down" any music. She was a founder of the Parents Music Resource Center, which advocated for a rating system and labeling of music. This was in place for movies decades before PMRC proposed a similar system for music

We all know how stunningly beatiful and smart Melania is. I even have to think she told those magazines to "f#(k off" when they came calling for her cover photo.

Melania no longer needed her likeness on a magazine(s) that spew negativity and filth.

Disagree. Eleanor Roosevelt was way more involved than Hillary.
