What exactly are you going to do if they don't show up at the appointed place at the appointed time
There are crash notifications that go out to an emergency contact list. At least you’ll know where to haul arse to.
It’s for peace of mind too. Once you know they’ve arrived wherever, you don’t have to worry anymore. No need for texts or phone calls; you know they are there and then you can go about your business.
About a year and a half ago a drunk hit my son. He was okay. I got the notification. I tried calling but it went straight to voicemail. By the time my son was able to call me I was already halfway to the scene.

When your kid starts driving it’s well worth it
Without it, they'd be relegated to a much smaller radius where they could go.
I think for us it works opposite of what most people think where it's restrictive. Having it allows my kids to do even more than they would without it.
quote:Certainly agree here.
Once they get to sr year or college it’s probably time to turn it off

There it is. That's the only reason most of you use it. For your own emotional needs.

My teenagers drive to school, work, hang out with friends and on dates and I have no problem going about my business without tracking their movements.

Do you believe in insurance? Isn’t that for peace of mind?

Okay. What were you gonna do when you got there? Are you a doctor? A cop? You knowing he was hit by a drunk did nothing but freak you out and make you rush halfway across town and probably put others at risk because you were a nervous wreck while behind the wheel.

It's cool man. You're a helicopter parent who is incapable of letting his kids have a little freedom. Just own it. Whatever works for you my man.

That’s a stupid way to look at it. The world is a crazy place these days. The roads are dangerous. People are freaking crazy. If you don’t care to know where your child is and that they are safe. That’s just bad parenting and kinda neglectful.

We live in the safest period in the history of humankind. You're just trying to justify hovering over your kids 24/7.

I don’t need an app to know or care where my kids are. Neither did my parents.
Guess we were just raised differently.

Simply having the ability to see your child's whereabouts is helicopter parenting
What other modern tech do you not like?

Nah man, every single generation of parents that existed before life360 were shitty parents who didn't care about their kids.

Yes. Absolutely. 100% and it's not debatable.
You may as well just put an ankle bracelet on your kids like a felon who's a flight risk.

My family uses it. I have a 19 yo son that's a marine electronics tech on the road at all hours and I like to know he made it to his destination safely. He also hunts a lot so if he breaks down I know where to go look for him.

This!!!
We have state farm insurance & we signed up for drive & save. We have a gps puck in all our vehicles & it doesn't cost a dime. It actually saves me roughly $300 every 6 months on my insurance. It doesn't have real time tracking but it tracks every driving session in the car so I can see everywhere my kid has been in his car. Tracks braking, speed, acceleration, cornering & using the phone while driving. My son has been driving for almost a year & I've looked at it 1 time because I couldn't remember where his friend lived.

Your son has his own career and hunts and fishes on his own but still has daddy tracking his movements. Pathetic.

Dude, you act like users are sitting around streaming that shite to the TV to watch where their kids are at every waking moment. Quit being obtuse...you know damn well the situations folks here are talking about.
You're coming across as one of these idiots who still walks around with a flip phone and likes to brag they don't know how to use a computer.
Maybe read up on helicopter parenting before slinging it around as applicable to anyone who likes to know their kids aren't getting into wrecks or where they're not supposed to be?
Lemme guess....you criticize parents for using an app because they want to make sure they're safe but you're the same motherfricker who is paranoid enough to have a personal armory of 33 guns for home protection? 'Bout right?

Good parenting to keep tabs on the kiddos or psycho helicopter parenting who won’t let their kids live?
The decision to add Life360 to your phone needs to be made solely on your wife's personality. You've been warned.

It's good for kids, and its good when you have a psychotic wife who always accuses you of creeping, even though hers is always turned off because "I don't want it to run my battery down."
You need to man up, turn off your shite and tell her to deal with it or leave.

It's fricking weird as shite and everyone who uses it is the definition of a helicopter parent. There's no debating it. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
