Wouldn't TPTB realize what a monumental laughing stock and disgrace America would be if caught?

We still don’t have technology to get humans thru the radiation belt. It didn’t happen in the 60’s.

They crossed at high latitude where the Van Allen belts are thinner. Even with that, someone who makes that trip has a 5% chance of developing cancer.
