Whats it say about the pelicans that other rebuilding teams have surpassed us?

Ever since we made that magical playoff run couple seasons ago- several teams seem to have surpassed us into becoming winning contending teams. To name a few: Kings, Thunder, Magic, Pacers, Rockets, Wolves, and Cavs.
I know lot of this is on Zion and injuries but where is the organizational responsibility here to be a better team than we have been. We continue to wait while these so called rebuilding teams now are playoff teams. Its still a long season but one has to ask- should it take this long to become a consistent winner especially with the picks we’ve had and the talent this team has drafted? Who also is to blame here that it’s taken this long and if we ever will become that consistent winner?

Not surrounding your star players with enough talent is usually the problem. We’re in kind of unprecedented territory here.

I mean nine of those are rea contenders.
Wolves are fricked soon once Gobert falls off. He's playing well this year but I'd rather have the picks back and kes.
Kings aren't going anywhere.
Mitchell will leave Cleveland and they're done.
Dallas...meh
Indy is a nice story but they don't have much outside Haliburton thst is really a difference maker.
OKC has a nice roster and could be legit if Chet stays healthy.
Rockets? Lol
Orlando is thr other one thst looks rea good.

I'm not blaming Griff for Zion not being ready to start the season.

Wolves aren't either. Playoff Rudy will show up.and Townes is a doofus choker

I get that but Zion has also had conditioning/injury issues for years, yet we rewarded him with a contract, refused to trade him and continued to build around him. Shouldnt there be some organizational responsibility here? Not all- lot of it on Zion.

Wolves are top of the west and winning at a great rate. Thunder are playing great basketball also top of west. Pacers are best offense in league. Yes we beat kings- but overall they win a lot of games. All these teams have early mvp candidates. Magic and rockets are debatable but likely will be in playoff race. Cavs last year and this year have shown to be consistent winners.
Not really sure why people get upset thinking these teams are some flash in the pan teams.

Why would Gobert fall off? His impact and production looks pretty normal. Last season was his first year on the team. He's adjusted and playing like the Utah version of Gobert. But he's more impactful defensively for Minnesota because they have good defensive players around him to compliment his play and he's not forced to cover for bad perimeter players.

Griffin has made mistakes but as a whole has gotten it right
Zion needs shooters to play...we have Trey, Hawkins, CJ, Matt Ryan
His big 3 of Ingram and CJ is as good a top 3 as we have ever had in New Orleans
He has great defenders in Herb and Dyson to help eliminate Zion being on the perimeter where his defense is horrendous
Val as a no.4 or 5 scoring option is solid as well
a deep deep bench. Jose, Naji, Nance in addition to everyone already mentioned
No at this point this year...the organization owes Zion no apologies for Zion holding the team back

It shows that we've been arrogant as hell.
Ever since we acquired Boogie to pair with AD, we've been trying to go against the grain of what everyone has been doing i.e. shoot a bunch of 3's.
First it was be bigger than everyone and dominate the paint. After that failed and Griffin came in for Dell, it's been put as many athletic dudes on court, without much thought of an aesthetically pleasing offense.
With the drafting of Hawk and the signing of Ryan, this past offseason was the first time we've acknowledged that we're in the era of the three pointer.

We built around Zion. If Zion fails..we fail.
