For the horse racing fans. NY Post

quote:

the Saratoga race track is 1¼ miles, slightly shorter than Belmont, which is known for its legendary 1½ miles.

It’s not the same race at the shorter distance.

So Secretariat's record will get smashed, but with an asterisk.

Saratoga is a nicer track, althogh Belmont is not bad itself.

Out of the big 3 tracks, Belmont is the nicest, followed by Churchill and then Pimlico.

1 year deal, they are renovating pretty much all of belmont.

and adding a poly turf track, so when it rains, they can move it to poly, and majority of horses stay in the races, unlike when switched to dirt, 80% of them scratch. sucks for bettors, gulfstreams poly is garbage

Churchill is the best of the three.

The Derby is by far the best race/event, but Churchill is a bit dumpy (especially when it rains).

The pageantry of the Derby overshadows its shortcomings as a facility.

Belmont is a better track. Saratoga is shaped like fairgrounds but it’s just much bigger- probably a furlong longer.

Thats not saying much. Oaklawn is nicer than all 3 combined and it isn't even close.

Belmont is just huge.

And nice track do not jive. It’s a shithole.
If any of the races need to be moved it’s the Preakness.
Laurel is a far nicer track

Comments say good luck on them finishing the Belmont upgrades on time, so it could be longer.

Hopefully SPAC doesn’t schedule a concert that weekend like this year when they had Travers and Phish on the same day.

I do agree.

My point was that Saratoga is nicer than Belmont. None of the big 3 races are held in nice tracks really.

They know how the unions are, there will be at least 4 walk outs, 2 threatened strikes.

Yeah probably 2 1/2 years is more likely

Churchill is sort of a dive compared to. Keeneland, Oakland, del mar, saratoga, etc. and Arlington was nicer.

D l mar is grossly overrated, visited and was not impressed, keeneland way better as well as saratoga

By renovations I’m assuming better/more luxury boxes. I thought Belmont was fine when I went several years back.

lots of stuff, and mainly a new poly track for rain days, so all of the turf horses don't scratch.
