Ok, so we're all in agreement to fire the bastard. Then what? What coach will succeed with the overpriced contracts, dead money shite cap, and old players on the roster?

I'm thinking we fixing to look like the Cleveland Browns for awhile.

Playing a rookie QB takes care of a lot of cap issues.

I still cannot believe we gave Carr that contract.

you mean like sign Watson to 230 million guaranteed?

Even the Saints cap gymnasts can't twirl out of that bitch of a contract.

I hear what you’re saying, but I don’t think it’s necessarily bleak for years. The Saints just don’t use the same operating model with the cap as other teams. Yes, there are times where they have to make tough choices and lose players in favor for older ones, but if you look at the roster this year, there’s talent - certainly enough to have won the division. Injuries haven’t helped, but really they’re getting a poor return on the talent they have because of bad coaching.

Carr’s contract is really only a two-year contract with a third year option. The Saints can get out of it after next year with a small cap hit in 2025. He could also be a $10M backup in 2025, which isnt unreasonable in the NFL. It’s not this monster that everybody thinks it is - Carr’s contract will not necessarily be the franchise killer and won’t scare off new coaches.

At the end of the day, there are only 32 of these jobs in the world and any given year, there may be six or seven of them that become available. That in itself is enough to motivate somebody to take the position.

Hire someone who knows how to use the best QB on the roster, Taysom Hill.
