Exactly. This precedent will hurt LSU down the road when it comes to seeding.

I don't know how it keeps getting ignored that FSU's opponents' cumulative win-loss record was 77-79. That doesn't support having played the most deserving schedule. They didn't play as tough a schedule as Bama and Texas.

Again, I ask...

In 2011, Bama played the weakest schedule out of the top 10-15 teams in the country. Before the bowls that year, they had only beaten three teams, maybe four, that didn't lose more than five games.

Why did they get in over a conference champion that beat more ranked teams and played a stronger schedule?

Why did Bama get in the playoffs again years later (more than once) without winning the SEC?

It is OK. I already know the answer. Good look with the mental gymnastics.

W/L dont matter. Just randomly who the committee chooses will benefit going forward. They destroyed all objectivity.

In 2011, when there were only two teams allowed in, Bama got in with one of the weakest schedules in the entire top 25, and didn't win the SEC or SECW.

Explain.

Bama has also gotten in, what, two more times without winning the SEC. Explain.

PS - You aren't going to get a thank you from Bama and Saban for the blow jobs, but they appreciate the support.

I'm not going to explain anything on those that weren't CFP years; not relevant to the current landscape. 2017 where Bama got in was a close decision. Ohio St won their conference but had 2 losses. Auburn lost the SEC CCG and had 3 losses. Wisconsin was 1-loss after the Big 10 CCG but didn't have SoS. Then Bama went and won it all in the CFP. That was the only time since 2011 that Alabama advanced to the CFP without winning the SEC.

Hard to argue that when Georgia and Michigan had the worst schedules of anyone in the top 10. A loss for either would knock them out and everyone knew that all year.

They didn't even play that well vs their schedule either. I was confidant the winner of the West was going to beat UGA. I just thought LSU would be one to do it but the defense was too bad to get there.

What do 2011 and 2017 have to do with this year's decision? 2011 wasn't CFP; 2017 I just wrote a response. Bama has only gotten to the CFP once without a CCG victory, so your "more than once" is incorrect.

And? FSU had their cupcakes too.

not as many as Michigan.

who is more likely to upset a team, a middle of the pack type Power 5 team with at least a winning record?
or a 3-9 East Carolina type?

Michigan played 5 Bowl Eligible Teams from power 5 conferences.
Florida State played 8

That UF almost beat FSU

want to know another word for "almost'?

didn't.

Just like Alabama "almost" lost to a bad Auburn team with all of their starters in the game.

they didn't lose, so they weren't penalized for it.

Ohio St, Penn St, and Iowa were much better wins than any win FSU had.

I'd say LSU is at least on par with Ped State and Iowa.
Louisville and Iowa may as well be the same team.

Clemson, Duke, Miami, Boston College, Virginia Tech, and Syracuse are all better (or at least equal) wins than Michigan's next best win against Maryland

so which schedule is more challenging.
8 teams that could pull an upset? or 3?

I disagree. They knew exactly what they were doing. I believe they got it wrong but that Bama money is very green.

I agree that the rankings are wrong. FSU is not the 5th best team without Travis and Georgia is not the 6th team. Georgia is probably still the best team when McKlonkey and their TE are healthy, which they should be by the time they play again, but I think the current rankings should be Michigan, Washington, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, then either Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon and Oklahoma should all be ranked ahead of FSU without Travis.

Point is, it wasn't a win to put a feather in your cap.

LSU yes. Louisville isn't on Iowa's level. The rest of the ACC isn't very good.

The schedule that isn't 77-79.

Well with FSU's weak schedule and broken QB, where should they be ranked?

the one that's 83-75 is so much better thanks to 9 win UNLV instead of 5 win Florida

You need to go in the other thread and see Rizer's response. FSU doesn't have the resume of Bama or Texas. The cumulative win-loss records of their opponents, the quality of the CCG wins, and the quality of the CCG opponents says all that needs to be said.

This is the same bunch that put Mich as the #1 seed? Mich played 3 ranked teams, PSU, tOSU, and Iowa. They won all three but they put up some paltry offense numbers doing it… 287, 338, and 213 yds respectively.

Les Miles would be proud!

Georgia plays FSU in the Orange Bowl. If their key players don't opt out for either team, I expect Georgia to trounce FSU. FSU may hold the score down a little, but their offense will get stomped. I expect Georgia to win by 20 points. Georgia will probably end up in the top 4 after the playoffs. I think Alabama will squeak by Michigan, and Texas will stomp Washington, so I expect a rematch of Texas and Alabama in the final. I still think Georgia is better than Alabama. The refs helped them a lot, and they got lucky, so if Georgia was in the playoffs, I would expect them to win again, but since they aren't in, I think Alabama will squeak by Texas to win another championship.
