I work a small company that probably has 200 employees over 2 locations give or take a few ppl. Here it is Dec 4 and we have yet to do open enrollment to make changes and what not.
I was always under the impression that this must be done by early to mid November. Every place I have always worked has been like that. That way you had December to flesh out any mistakes you or the company may have made and it is all fixed for the new year? Am I wrong about this or are these frickers about to just drop us with no warning?

Ah, that makes sense. Definitely big enough not to screw up open enrollment.

Plan year and calendar year are different. Look at your insurance card and see what the effective date of coverage is. Open enrollment should be the month before that.

For example, ours is 7/1. So each year June is the month we have open enrollment.

Annual Medicare open enrollment period runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7 annually. Many companies line up with that, but it is not definite. Private companies can hold their open enrollment for the following year whenever they want. Just ask your HR representative when yours is.
