Red is definitely better. But I think I only had the yellow once so I'm a little biased.

Yellow creme was by far the best. It was my all time favorite soda.
Not that the red sucks, but the yellow was just awesome.

It seems like I remember the yellow being better than the red also.
My great grandmother always talked about pop rouge. was that an actual thing or just a cajun/creole reference to the red one?

There were slight differences in the recipes between MS and LA, and the water was different, so they did taste slightly different but not so much that most people would notice. So, Yellow Creme Soda and Cream Soda French Vanilla were essentially the same. And Red Creme Soda tasted/tastes somewhat different from both of them.
