Heaven forbid, adults making what the market says they are worth!

I don't care what they're paid. I just want structure and boundaries for everyone to follow just like every other sports league in the world. I don't want the wild west like what we have. You want to be paid to play. Fine, sign a contract and be forced to play under that contract for however many years. Coaches have to and if they want out, they pay an exit fee. Players in pro leagues are under contract. They don't get to "take their talents elsewhere" whenever they feel like it.

I also think it would be hilarious and a wakeup call if college players could be traded. Could you imagine signing to play football at UGA and then being shipped off to Akron on a whim because they had a strong safety they wanted?

To do that would require a CBA between the "employer" NCAA? All conferences? and a players union. Before the players can form a union, they need to be recognized as (in essense) "employees". Otherwise, the courts will strike down any attempts to restrict NIL. It's the free market. If a business wants to pay a player for use of his name, image, likeness, the school/conference can't unilaterally restrict.

First question is who is the "employer"? The NFL, NBA, MLB consist of 30ish separate individual businesses operating under one umbrella (i.e., the league). Those individual businesses and the players (employees) have collectively agreed to all of the rules under which they operate.

Every other sports league in the world are PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES, not amateur student-athletes. That's why this whole entire convoluted situation is so fricking stupid.

If we want to destroy and tear apart everything that has made CFB great and just make it a mini-NFL feeder system, then why even pretend to be amateurs? Quit making the kids go to class and if they drop a ball or fart at the wrong time you should be able to cut them immediately and no longer pay them. No other options to transfer to? Too bad, you're a professional and this is what you wanted. Who cares that you're 19 and haven't been taking classes so now have zero prospects for your future. The TV networks and conferences got what they wanted so be gone.
