iPad advice

I posted the below on the Tech board and received mixed responses.
I am thinking about getting an iPad with some reward points from a company credit card. I would mostly use it for internet browsing and e-mails and also may use for note taking if I go to Law School next year. The options available are below:
- iPad 10th generation 10.9" screen 256 GB
- iPad Air 5th generation 10.9" screen 64 GB
The iPad Air has the M1 chip vs the A14 for the iPad 10th generation but only has 64 GB. If the iPad Air had 256 GB this would be a no brainer. Which should I choose?

If that’s all you’re using it for go with the cheaper model. You don’t need upgraded chips for the minimal use you’re stating.
It really comes down to the storage at that point. Get the storage option that best suits you.

I have an iPad Pro (not air) and it is very good for internet and email. I wouldn't get any device with only 64 GB.
As for notes and law school, I wouldn't use an iPad when you can get a MacBook Air for just a few more bucks, assuming you prefer the Apple ecosystem.

iPad Pro + the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
Bonus if you get a MacBook Pro and then use the two together. Notability is a great app to use for taking notes.

In June I purchased a iPad Pro with apple pen thinking I would use it for work. I only used it for about 2 weeks and then it just stayed in my backpack. (Still used my phone)
Last night I traded the iPad for a shotgun lol

There's very little you will do on an iPad that will take full advantage of the M1 or M2 chips.
If you not sure how much you will use it, go with the cheaper one.

You definitely want to go with the larger storage. If you don't, I promise at some point you will wish you had.

They are very close. Might depend on if typing notes or wanting to handwrite them and space for storage of those notes (if device only place to store).
For same price:
better storage with iPad 10th
versus
Air with better processor for video watching (M1 has hardware acceleration for video) & any M1 optimized apps, option for pressure sensitivity with the most expensive Apple Pencil, and if typing a lot the Magic Keyboard is better than the folio (both additional costs).
They are all due for a refresh. The Air more than the iPad 10th, but that will probably be in early 2024.

Whatever you end up getting, make sure you get AppleCare for 2 years. You're gonna need it. These screens are WEAK as hell nowadays.

Get the larger storage, I have the 256, I have very few pics/videos stored on it, mostly apps, and I’m using 64GB
