Is it too early to say that Derek Carr is the worst free agent signing in the history of this franchise?

From a monetary value? No.
8 drives in falcon territory, 15 points.

No, it's just recency bias. As bad as he has been, he's actually showed signs of a pulse from time-to-time. And while the sticker shock of his contract is up there, he's still being paid as an average QB (15th highest paid).
Just off the top of my head of really bas signings in Loomis' tenure, they made Jason David one of the highest paid CBs. Tebucky Jones is up there (may have been a trade). Forgetting the big name safety that was always injured and they made him one of the highest paid safetys in the game just for him to always line up 30 yards off the ball when he did play.

I will say this about Carr: I liked him when we signed him, figured if we could win 7 games with Dalton, he would get us an extra few. Now, I fricking hate the guy. I hate everything about him. If you went in a lab and wanted to make the worst QB possible, it would be Carr. He is the antithesis of Drew Brees.

He says all the right things, but at the end of the day, doesn't get the job done. Saints need to draft a QB with first round pick.....although that won't happen because LOOMIS is trying to win now with bargain basement players. BUILD THROUGH THE DRAFT! Dumbass!

He did get us in the red zone like 6 times yesterday. And moved the ball pretty good. They just need to get Taysom involved throwing and running more. And come up with better play calls.

In 2006, the league-wide completion percentage was 59.8%. In 2023, it's 64.8%. So Brees was 4.5% above average and Carr is 0.7% above average.
Brees was 27 years old and hadn't peaked yet. Carr is 32 and probably has already peaked. QBs typically peak between the ages of 26 to 30.
Carr has sucked this year.
ETA:
Brees finished 2006 1st in yards, 5th in comp%, 3rd in TDs, and 3rd in passer rating.
Carr is currently 16th in yards, 16th in comp%, 22nd in TDs, and 17th in rating.
Comparing raw numbers from 2006 to 2023 is a bad comparison because the game has changed. Compared to the rest of the league, Carr in 2023 is nowhere close to Brees in 2006.

His explanation for the interception might be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard a QB say
"The safety should not have been there, he blew his assignment on the play" Really, Maybe he read your eyes and knew exactly where you were going with the football.
It's football, you can't guess in that situation.
And I know Taysom gives us that wrinkle but he's no different than Ingram with fumbling in key moments of a game.
Some coaches cut players when they fumble like that.

Has Allen cut a single player of consequence this season? It seems like Sean Payton would do that all the time, probably to send a message to the rest of the team. (Not saying we should cut Taysom).
