He’s returning to Baylor next year.

When was the last time a coordinator left a major program to become a head coach, then 3 years later returned to that major program after having been fired from his head coaching job? It doesn't happen. Aranda is never, EVER coming back as a DC.

He's not gonna leave a job as a head coach to become a DC again. Lol

Wish I had more than one downvote.
Aranda was a great DC at his time at LSU.
He now knows the feeling of being the most popular person in town and the most disliked person in town. (Doesn’t like the latter)
This is not my opinion. This is a statement heard.
If Baylor gives him a buyout, he is retired for a few years if not forever.
Now—GEAUX TIGERS

Even if Aranda was available, I don’t want a DC who’s not a great recruiter. We’ve lost too many defensive recruits to Texas and Texas A&M, and that’s not a recipe for future success no matter how well the guy can coach.

Certainly not a current Power 5 head coach making $4 million a year. After that? Off the top of my head Blake Baker, Jim Leonhard, Zach Arnett, DJ Durkin.

I would not be disappointed with Aranda coming back. I cannot see Dave going back to a coordinator role, now that he’s had a taste of head coaching.

Baylor is still pretty happy with Dave Aranda. Quiet and cerebral. Considering the tumult there a short time ago wins and losses are not the only thing. It’s a really high end academic university.
