Holy crap that was a hard golf course and it was also one of the most beautiful courses I've ever played. The greens are in perfect condition and super fast, had a 20'down hill putt that I smoothly putted off the green and into the water, did the same thing on 2 down hill chips. If you were above the green it was darn near impossible to leave it within 3 to 5 feet, at least it was for me and I'm a 10 handicap. The greens were also very undulating, not many straight putts outside of 4', they are what I imagined Augusta would be like. As for the fairways, not a weed to be found and not a flat lie either. It felt like every shot was above or below my feet. They were lined with tall pines that also looked like Augusta on TV with the pine straw under them. Just a great, hard golf course, it really tested my game. Shot 102, I haven't shot over 90 in 5 years but this course kicked my tail. Looking forward to going back someday.

Course is absurd. I shot a par free 96 from the two-ups as an 8 handicap a few years ago. I want another crack at it..

It’s probably my favorite course I’ve ever played. Just a great track and probably as close to Augusta National as I’ll ever get a chance to play.

No, chipped it in the water from above the hole on #2 and #3, started off par double triple good times. Putted off the green on #12 par 3 it found the ridge and just kept on going. All I could do was laugh. The greens were incredibly hard for me to read. Playing there again in a Father Son scramble in December so hopefully I'll play a little better, if not, oh well, going to enjoy the time with my son.

Last time I played there was in a tournament and I had a really good round going (really good round for me). Started on 10 and was 9 over laying 2 in the fairway on the par 5 5th. Had 126 to the pin on the front right of the green. Hit a perfect towering fade 50 degree to the middle front of the green, about 10 ft from the pin. Put my head down and started walking back to the cart. After my cartner told me "great shot' he then started saying "stop, stop, STOP!" I looked back up to watch my ball roll to the left, off the green, down the slope, and over the little brick wall that designates the penalty area. Dropped and chipped up only to have the same exact thing happen TWICE. Took triple (triple max in the tournament for pace of play). Fun times indeed...

Played there a few weeks ago. Absolutely immaculate course. Shot a 88 which is about 10 strokes higher than normal, but absolutely loved it.

Front 9 Tour

It's put on by the Front 9 Tour which runs the High School Tournaments in North Louisiana and also runs Summer and Fall kids tournaments.

66 round 1
85 round 2
76 round 3

I played with this kid at Calvert Crossing during a fundraiser event. He is from Denmark and I believe he was a sophomore when he set the record.

Unfortunately, I did not see round 1. We wanted to go but Covid was still a thing and we had a couple fighting other health battles and did not need to catch Covid. We watched the ESPN broadcast for round 2.

Up to that point Burns held the course record at Squire and Mystic.
