I don't think you appreciate the roster situation in Starkville. It is easily the second worst in the conference next to Vanderbilt. They have absolutely nothing in the pipeline. And the worst NIL program to boot.

They're looking at a major rebuild there and they could be historically bad while that is underway.

Plus the State of MS can only offer 4 year contracts by law. So no coach can be guaranteed much in the way of a runway to build the program.

It's the worst job in the conference

Even before the transfer portal a good coach could turn around a program within a year or two. Crooms won one SEC game his last year and two years later, Mullen had State finishing in the final polls at #15. Your post seems like wish casting.

Prior to the season, dogs were saying this is the most talented upper class laden roster they’ve had in years.
