You don’t want to hear the reason. But I’ll tell you anyway, It’s because they are still in the conversation for these two things: conference championship, national championship. Any other questions I can answer for you Einstein?

Washington winning and Penix looking average would seal it for JD.

Odds right now are based on assumption Washington loses to Oregon.
If Washington wins and goes undefeated, penix is the front runner. Washington’s strength of schedule gets a huge boost also with another game against 1 loss Oregon.
I’d say Oregon winning and nix looking average would work more in JDs favor.

Penix ain't winning no matter what. 2 games no TD's. Hell he went 0td/2int and they still won.

Dude has been playing since 2018!

He has shite the bed in 2 of his last 5 games.

He's had a phenomenal year. His team is undefeated. He's going to be on the stage. I don't think many really believe he's in the final 2. But, his name being mentioned for Heisman is definitely appropriate.

The thing that has hurt Daniels the most is that Penix has fallen off. Now the Northwest votes won't be as split.

The best thing for Daniels at this point would be for Penix to perform well and remain in the discussion. It would further split the West Coast vote without moving the needle for areas of the country that would naturally lean towards the SEC top performer over a PAC-12 player.

He doesn’t have a loss is the only answer.

Hes a good QB for a top 5 team. He won't win, but it's good for JD5 if he plays well. He's less competition than Nix and will split some west coast votes. And if he can beat Nix I think that would really help Daniels

He plays on an undefeated team that likely will make the CFP.... has won big games, and is being rewarded by the National Media. The Heisman is more than just stacking stats....

It is an award for the most outstanding player, not the best team. See Ricky Williams, Texas Longhorns, 1998, who played on a team with three losses.

Dumbass...

That’s a shame. I’ve been working day and night on the perfect “Penix envy” joke.
