Does it seem strange the US government can openly commit murder?

I think about the drone strikes that were so popular under Obama that routinely killed civilians, or a little over a year ago when Biden was bragging about killing terrorists with a drone strike but later it was revealed it was a volunteer and some children.
If anyone in the US intentionally killed even one person, let alone several over and over again, we'd face the obvious consequences. But the government does this a matter of routine business and everyone just shrugs. Oops, we killed 20 innocent people with the touch of a button. Anyway, here's Wonderwall.

Honestly, if we could refine that process to the point that we could take out problems like Putin or the leadership of Hamas with precision, lots fewer innocent lives would be lost.
The problem is that we're not great (yet) at identifying, locating, and hitting the targets.
I understand what you're saying, but the alternative is to allow Middle Eastern terrorists to (eventually) attack our citizens without a deterrent or go to full scale war.
I would think just as high a percentage of innocent civilians would die in a full scale war, if not more. Isn't that what we're seeing in Gaza?

The government can openly kill its own citizens and it’s celebrated via the death penalty. That really blows my mind.

I can understand Hamas leadership (who the world pretty much universally recognizes a terrorist organization) but do you understand the shite show on the world stage that would occur if the US openly assassinated Putin, the leader of a world power, a recognized sovereign nation, and one of the 5 permanent members of the UN?

Why is Putin a problem? We have no beef with him or Russia.

Funny, a lot of other countries feel the same about us.

No, it is not celebrated. Every death is a tragedy. The reason I am for the death penalty is for consequences of heinous actions. There must be extremely high consequences for terrible acts.

If the US droned Putin there would be an insane number of lives lost.

I always felt it was unsettling.
The Biden strike was disgusting. He murdered little kids in a country we weren't even at war with. And basically it was written off as an "acceptable loss". Don't even know if the few surviving family members were given compensation.. or if Biden's crew just quietly killed them also.
It's surreal.

That's part of the development. For it to be viable they would have to be able to do it without it being able to be traced to us. Nobody said anything about it being an open assassination.

How many of them are primarily responsible for the majority of the world enjoying the highest standard of living in the history of the race?

You really want to go down the road of us compensating people in those situations?
