Tell me what major recruits on the defensive side of the ball out there we’re projected to land or flip?

Gotta be some 4 or 5 star CB or DL that we’re waiting on, right?

Early signing day is a month away. We aren’t in the hunt for any of them.

We’re claiming Reliford but that doesn’t seem likely.

Bussey? He’s coming in to see A&M, if he even makes it to campus

The rankings are fluid, since that’s such a big concern for you. If Woodland ends up higher than Bates in the final rankings, that doesn’t materially change anything except the perception. That’s the point he’s trying to make.

And then the transfer portal of course.

Truth of it is BK needs to do a hard reset of the defensive staff 2 years into his tenure or else we will become like a Lincoln Riley led team where we have to play in shoot outs against any decent team that we play. If things aren’t better defensively next year, there will be serious fire under BK’s seat for 2025.

Is that why Bama fans wanted him gone?

Ole Miss looking good in recruiting.

Yeah those ranked # 20 classes are great. We should get on some of that.

They seem to work. They beat LSU this year.

Unfortunately, it's not looking like there will be much of a class. Once again we'll need to use the portal and right now, that hasn't been great for us on defense. Everybody we compete with in recruiting of defensive players has an advantage, look at the product we've put on the field. Recruits and their parents MUST consider development and right now, LSU has looked AWFUL in that area. Now add in what they're being told by those recruiting them, it's a disaster for LSU.

BK may or may not fire House at seasons end. Recruits are looking elsewhere because LSU seems like a dumpster fire on defense. I keep asking, what recruit wants to come to a school that lacks the ability to coach or develop them? You don't think recruits have watched Perkins last year and compared it to this season?

Immediate playing time doesn't matter if you suck as a defense.

We’re struggling in 2 particular areas- CB and DT. We currently don’t have a qualified coach at either position. It’s really as simple as that.

This is one player I thought lsu could flip.

Sad that it's at this point.

Yeah because there’s no way that game couldn’t have gone the other way. Because both teams were so damn good on defense.

What’s the history of that series again (especially the last 30 years or so)? I forget.

Tell me again how many #20 to #25 recruiting teams have won national championships.

No but you keep on with your dipshit narrative. It makes you look so knowledgeable.

Pay Wingo and Smith to come back. Don't know how many DL actually leave TAMU if Robinson isn't retained, nor do I know if LSU would have a shot at any. Make sure you're secured there first.

You don't have to pay them anything especially Smith. He would be lucky to be drafted in 7th round if he decided to leave early. Also Wingo is recovering from injury might miss combine if he decided to go pro.

Alabama fans wanted Golding gone, but right now he has four defensive linemen committed who are all 4-stars. And that's without flipping Collins. Golding will have a much better defense going forward with those kinds of players.

Meanwhile, our defensive recruiters can't even find bodies, ANY bodies to fill the defensive line. Even without a Dline coach, a program like LSU shouldn't be recruiting this poorly at DL and CB.

Gerry DiNardo used to say sometimes it’s not about the guys you don’t sign but the guys you do … meaning you might be stuck with them for 4 years.

Obviously it’s a different climate with the transfer portal but you can’t be stuck with guys on the 85 that can’t play

It’s not good at DL but you have to let the recruiting calendar and transfer window play out.

This is the answer

None of this will change until we have a new DC/defensive staff

We’re not struggling to recruit on offense

Bc we have the #1 offense in the country and our staff is showing recruits they can be developed

Nothing on defense is gonna happen or change until we get a new defensive coach, DLine coach, and secondary coach. I mean they better go all out and get great coaches, not fricking good, great.
