If you have to use it, should you really be eating that particular piece of meat?
Got a steak at The Caboose in Hammond one time and was about to put A1 on it (which I rarely ever eat) And the owner walks up and says "If you have to put sauce on ,we didnt cook it right"
Took it back and brought one out that was absolutely awesome!

Only if I'm pulling the steak out of the refrigerator and heat it in the microwave.. Then and only then,,,maybe....

This is me as well. Or if it is a really thin one that I cook for breakfast with my eggs. For some reason I like it then.

Not to be an arse, but if that's his POV, why have it on the table? I'm all about using it when sauteeing some leftover steak (rarely does it make it this far), but just asking....

you know, like throwing together a sandwich or something... Never on a fresh steak, unless couple days old in the fridge..

Catering to your customers. "The customer is always right."

I would have still eaten it. For whatever reason I just wanted to try a little A1 on there. But Lloyd is a great host and insisited that HE cook me another one.
I don't know him personally, but I like that he cares that much.
If any of you are ever in Hammond, try out The Caboose...pretty damn good steaks.

Ok...left over steak that has already been grilled....I just had a picture of you taking this nice red porterhouse out of the fridge and tossing it in the microwave....It's all cool now

NOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Using up some old stuff in the fridge for sammich or maybe sauteeing with something in the skillet.. I couldn't understand why you got upset!!

The thing is with "steak sauce" is that whatever you put it on just tastes like steak sauce - whether it's a prime ribeye or a Waffle House t-bone. Your steak merely becomes a vehicle for the steak sauce.

I would never trust the opinion of someone that used steak sauce on anything food related.

I'm inclined to agree with this, but some days A1 or 57 sounds great on a burger or dog.

I typed that wrong, I meant I wouldn't want their opinion on anything food related. Steak sauce is fine on a dog or burger.

Well, they do have the "option" of liking it..
sorry...couldn't help it.

I am odd about somethings.
But I really liked Lea and Perrins Sweet & Spicy steak sauce on grilled chicken breast. Never on a steak.
Unfortunatly it is no longer being made, I stocked up on a few bottles while they were still around. but alas I am out.
