Dan Lanning...If A&M don't go after him, they are crazy as hell.

He can win a championship at A&M, he can't at Oregon.

Apparently he is top 2 target. Oregon being in CFP hunt complicates it.

Nobody can or will win a championship at A&M.

Why do you say that?

He’s been a head coach for less than two years. He cost his team the game against Washington. If he leaves, he risk becoming the next Tom Herman. It’s a risky hire for both.

I don't think he can get the right players out there. The culture there isn't right for winning but neither is A&Ms. I just think that he would have a better opportunity to win big at A&M with recruiting, resources, recruiting etc....

Oregon has won more than aggy in his life time.

The culture is an aggy problem or the aggy way as they call it.

It is not a culture of winning.

Oregon has played in TWO NC games since 2010.

How many NC games (or the equivalent) have A&M played in since.....1939?

Nice edit. Guess you had to make it a little less obvious that you’re a Gay&M alter. A&M has the worst culture in the country and these kids don’t give near the fricks about facilities that the average SEC ranter thinks they do. Oregon is the WAY better job out of the two

Once Oregon is in the B1G next year, with no divisions, Oregon is screwed.

That’s not really an answer… why can’t Oregon win in the Big 10?

Why would he leave the best west coast program to coach at the 3rd best school in Texas?

No A&M alter here. The right person, can go and change the culture there like KIRBY did at Georgia. IT's not that hard to see the potential, but I know that lsu would hate for aggy to get good, while it's not a concern for a Dawg. Oregon is NOT the better job of the two.

Honestly, Lanning should be everyone's top coach on the search list.

He's an elite recruiter, he can coach the defensive side of the ball extremely well, and he has already had success running a program on his own.

He has shown the ability to make a good staff and has high school contacts on the west coast and in the southeast now.

If he's not the #1 target for any school, either you don't think you can get him or you don't know what an elite coach looks like.

It will be hard to get him from Oregon though.

Because there are definitely no “gays” in the uber-liberal/progressive state of Oregon

I disagree for this job for the reasons stated above and would add that much of the winning Dan has done has much more to do with a 5 year QB. Love Dan. But he hasn’t proven anything yet and the Texas A&M AD can’t miss on this hire or it’s his arse.

I would like a little more info about him before showing home the kwan.

How many coaches have struck lightening in a bottle with a good qb and than fail miserably at the next school?
