LSU opens as a -14.0 favorite vs Florida

That seems extremely generous with uncertainty about JD's status and Mertz completing over 73% of his passes. They're also running well with Etienne and Montrell Williams both averaging over 5 ypc (Etienne is at 6 ypc). The good news is that Mertz is not a runner and we will be facing a pro-style offense.
Maybe we can keep the score in the 30's.

Definitely very generous if JD is out.
However,
Florida throws screens like it's going out of business, thats why his completion percentage is so high. PFF charts him at nearly 1 in every 3 passes are behind the LOS, these are 90%+ throws for anyone. Their offense has proven ineffective many times this season, see - 11 against Utah, 22 against Charlotte, 14 against Kentucky, 20 against UGA...they've sputtered quite a bit this season offensively.

Vegas anticipating that Daniels is playing?

We will play soft zone and attack their middle whilst shutting down the edges thereby holding them to just 250 yds rushing.
That should work right?

Jesus we can’t tackle worth shite can’t wait to see all the miss tackles on screens

If Nuss starts, LSU loses.

Taking out a property loan and putting it all on UF +14 if Nuss plays - then will buyout Matt House

That line will crash if JD isn’t playing. Should probably be more like LSU -6 if Nuss gets the start.

Yeah, I was about to say Mertz’s completion percentage is very deceptive.
It’s going to be an interesting matchup of a Florida passing attack that isn’t explosive against a defense that allows a ton of explosive plays.

I don’t see it getting anywhere below LSU -8.

Have you seen LSU play this year? If Nuss starts, Florida wins by two touchdowns. If Daniels starts, LSU wins by a FG. Our defense is gonna play more offense for Florida than defense for LSU. Daniels can’t carry the team on his back forever.

Always enjoy seeing other fans be such prisoners of the moment and only looking to the last game to provide their thoughts on the next game

I understand what you are doing in downplaying Florida's offense but our defense does not deserve the benefit of the doubt in being able to stop anybody. But I do like that this game is at home and like our offensive weapons even if Nuss has to start due to Daniels being out with an injury.

I know Mertz is a dink and dunk QB, but we don't tackle well and play CBs 10+ yards off the LOS. This would be a good game to get Weeks back on the field. Penn is slow and Speights is still not showing why he was a top portal LB. I can't see either chasing down screens.

I understand why people are so down, but damn, there is a huge difference between LSU playing bama on the road in Bryant Denny vs playing a 5-4 florida at night in Tiger Stadium. We will look better, but if we don't, then the gloves are off and BK will start to get uncomfortable from the heat.

Up until Saturday night Milroe had rushed for an average of 1.8 ypc and Bama was scoring 27 ppg vs P5 competition. Bama was not an offensive juggernaut. Their OL was struggling and their run game was inconsistent.

I have my reservations about the game without Daniels as well but for fricks sake!! You people who spout shite like this in such a definitive manner, as though it’s a no-brainer and it would be stupid to think LSU can win with Nuss, really are shitty fans.
