Sitka Code Threads

Today, and every so often someone comes on this forum and provides Sitka discount threads on a first come first serve basis. I was fortunate enough to get a code some time back. Our group, who takes special needs kids fishing, as well as wounded veterans hunting, was able to buy over $4,500.00 in rain gear and other shirts and jackets using these codes. I will not name the member who provided me the code, but we did exchange emails and I could not thank him enough for what he did and for the many great folks who he effected in a positive way. To the few who offer these codes, thank you for what you are doing. It allows people to get quality gear at a fantastic price.

That's awesome but shouldn't a non profit be stretching their money farther by buying GameWinner stuff instead of Sitka. down vote away.

As to us buying cheaper clothing/gear. We are not a non-profit, nor a 501C. We are just six guys who have been blessed in our lives that want to let special needs kids and wounded veteran enjoy the outdoors at no cost to them. As to why we like to buy expensive gear, because it works. These kids/vets are in the rain or cold and having the right gear creates a better experience for them. I, as many on this forum, probably have tried to go cheap and ended up being very cold and/or very wet, thus a miserable experience.

I’m not sure if I supplied this code or not, but I do recall one of the recipients of a code does something similar. I made a mental note because I volunteer some of my time teaching foster children to fish. Baws, if you’ve got the time or ability, we should all give back a little where we can.

tiger33: Yes, it was you who provided the last code to us. I did not feel comfortable mentioning your screen name, but I am glad you responded. Thanks for all you do to also take others experience the outdoor world. Withe the code you supplied we were able to get some really good rain gear for the special need folks we take fishing. We were also able to get some base layers and jackets/pants for the vets we took hunting up north. Thanks again!
Also, thanks to all who responded. If you have the opportunity to help kids, vets or anyone else enjoy the outdoors, please do yourself a favor and help. I promise you will not regret it. We get Xmas Cards, handmade by these kids, which brings tears to our eyes. We take vets hunting who have lost an eye, a leg, a foot, a hand, an arm, etc. But despite their lost, their worst injury is the mental aspect of the demons in their minds. A hunting trip does not go by that we do not get a "thank you" from a vet's significant other thanking for changing someone's life. Despite all this, helping others, affects us more positively than we could every affect them.
