X

He interviews Col Douglas Macgregor who tell us the truth about the region, the world, Iran's capabilities and our diminished power.

Time to wake up.

War worked so well in Iraq and Afghanistan. Why wouldn't it work in Iran?

How does it feel knowing even 20 years ago he US was eyeing Iran, and now look where we are? All of that global bullshite and we are right back where we were 20 years ago.

Worked badly because of the designing players. Iran supported the terrorist organizations there so that didn’t help. It’s all been a proxy war with Iran

Where's the battlefield? Israel?

What does a 21st century battlefield look like, virtual? Cyberspace?

The US and military tacticians years ago war gamed a conflict with Iran and it was determined it wouldn’t be a cake walk. What McGregor is saying isn’t anything new.

thats not what I said, not even close. And yea one carrier battle group would decimate irans conventional forces in one day. I liked Mcgregor then I watched a lot of him, and again he never ever bad mouths Iran or Putin. people watch him for an objective take but when you really dissect it I am convinced he is paid to promote Russia.

You don't win wars by worrying about collateral damage. It's the ole "one hand tied behind your back" approach that bites you in the arse nearly every time.

Iran isn’t that stupid for a direct war

They’ll conduct it via surrogates like cowards

It’ll be another Vietnam

Also building back what you broke. The purpose of a war is to leave the enemy defeated, not better than when you found them.

If you make Tehran a parking lot, war's over. Walk away and let that parking lot be a deterrent for anyone else who feels froggy.

We can worry about that in 77 years. I'm more interested in what a 21st century battlefield looks like.

Well, maybe trying to find the snake in the weeds (HAMAS in Gaza) is futile. Just go for the head of the snake (Iran) and watch the rest of the snake (HAMAS) lose its main source of funding? Dangerous long shot but crap needs to cease coming up every so often.

To go to war with a country because they are backing other peoples and countries with arms seems to be...whats the word?

who is paying him? Also, he has levied plenty of criticism at Russia for how they went into Ukraine, tactically. Haven't heard him about Iran that much but in this piece he was pretty neutral and focused more on the US side of things.

He's been right about everything except the prediction on how quickly Ukraine would fall, where everyone was wrong. Certainly his overall analysis of Russian superiority over Ukraine is correct and his conclusion that the support / materiel from the West would have no impact is correct as well.

Compare his analysis to everyone in the Biden admin and people like Petraeus. MacGregor has been far more dialed in than they have been.

Feels like all of this talk about war is just priming the citizenry.
