Left side of the field:
20+ yards- 9/12 322 yards 5 TD 0 INT 75% success rate
11-20 yards- 9/19 144 yards 0 TD 2 INT 42% success rate
0-10 yards- 19/26 170 yards 0 TD 1 INT 58% success rate
Behind LOS- 5/6 33 yards 0 TD 0 INT 67% success rate
Middle of the field:
20+ yards- 2/6 106 yards 1 TD 0 INT 33% success rate
11-20 yards- 3/3 84 yards 1 TD 0 INT 100% success rate
0-10 yards- 3/6 16 yards 0 TD 0 INT 50% success rate
Behind LOS- 2/2 7 yards 0 TD 0 INT 50% success rate
Right side of the field:
20+ yards- 6/12 264 yards 2 TD 0 INT 50% success rate
11-20 yards- 5/8 101 yards 1 TD 1 INT 63% success rate
0-10 yards- 16/19 142 yards 1 TD 0 INT 63 % success rate
Behind LOS- 5/6 10 yards 0 TD 0 INT 17% success rate
Key takeaways? They do not throw across the middle, like at all. And the numbers back up the eye test- Milroe succeeds when he can throw deep, especially left of the hash.
Play soft, make them be patient, make them drive the field. Then tackle. The numbers show Milroe is far less productive when he can’t just chuck and duck.

He blows. Just need to blitz him

You don't blitz running qb
You rush your passing lane and have contain.

He’s going to hit on the deep ball over and over again
And when he doesn’t, he will take off for 20 yards because our DEs crash down every fricking play
Milroe is average but this defense turns average QBs into Heisman winners
Play soft?!? Make them drive the field?!?!
Have you watched this defense at all this season?!?

Pressure him with Perkins spying him

We’re 9th in the SEC in percentage of 15+ yard plays allowed. Not anything special, but probably a lot better than people expected. That’s SEC games only too.

Need that game plan from the Arkansas game last year.

I cant think of a worse suggestion. Their oline is elite in blitz pickup. Mix some cover 3 and cover 2. Keep it underneath, and hope he doesnt see a safety a few times

If this defense makes avg QB’s look great how did we beat Mizzou on the road with good QB and great WR. Why didn’t Auburn pass all over us? Why didn’t Army score a single point.

Perkins was made in a lab to shut down QBs like Milroe.
Hopefully House can scheme it.

2 weeks for Pete to corch up that DLine

I’m no defensive mind but just from what I’ve seen I think the soft coverage we play actually benefits us against Milroe. Make him beat you by throwing multiple short passes. Don’t get beat deep. This is what they want to do. If they have long drives where he completes multiples short passes then tip your cap. Tackling is going to be key playing like this. Play the run, soft coverage and tackle. Would be nice for the defensive line to breakout in a big way. That group has to have a big game for us to win.

Alabama has the 2nd worst pressure % allowed, worst sack % allowed, and 3rd worst negative play %

We gave up 500 yards and 39 points against Mizzou. We won b/c of JD.
