I've questioned my neighborhood why I am expected to sit out in my drive way. Parents won't have them come up to the door and ring the door bell or knock. I'm not getting off my couch and away from my tv for that reason

I used to say this and in my neighborhood this is option, but I've actually come to like it. Weather is usually beautiful...me and the wife will make cocktails and chill and just watch the neighborhood go by.

A few Halloweens ago the saints played on Halloween night, and I put the patio TV out by my table and brought out a few of my bourbon bottles... lot of the fellow neighborhood dads had a blast stopping by and lingering

How strange to have to sit in your driveway. We sit on the front porch once the kid traffic gets steady. When we're ready to stop, we turn the light off and lock up.

This has come to my neighborhood over the last couple of years but it seems to be for the smallest kids who go out before dark. I’m ready this year. I will sit by the sidewalk until dark with an empty Tide Pods container. If anyone comes up, I’ll say I’m all out of candy in this bucket but have more by the front door of the house and ask them to follow me. I’ve glued about 10 big plastic spiders to the back of a short and might tear it up a little and add fake blood. Then I’ll lead the kids past the different things I’m putting on display and then let them choose their treat from a full bowl.

Meh, I don’t mind this as much considering I’ve got a 9 month old who’s in bed around 7:00 anyway.
