I think the fact that legalizing weed has done nothing to stop the illegal trade of it is a good indicator.
All the "tax and make it legal" people fail to realize the black market will still exist because taxing and making something legal also makes it a lot more expensive sending people to still seek out a cheaper alternative.

There are very few true black markets for goods in the United States. The ones that exist are mostly for items that were recently illegal or are heavily regulated.
Even though weed is legal, it is still heavily regulated and not legal on a widespread basis. I don't think the market, or the laws and regulations, have kept up.
There's no black market, to speak of, for alcohol or cigarettes in the U.S. It's basically drugs and guns, and prostitution.

Lowering prices and eliminating the black market was never the point of decriminalization.
The point is creating a safe environment and treating people like free adults. This is supposedly America last I checked.

Weed isn’t legal in the us. It’s a schedule 1 narcotic.
