Yes or no.

A non violent offender held years without trial seems wrong.

I think people still have a hard time accepting the reality that our elected leaders and the bureaucrats they appoint are bloodthirsty tyrants and criminals with zero regard for the people they were elected to serve.

It’s a hard pill to swallow, but I’d suggest you try water.

Exactly correct.

The Progressive response to this is "defund the police." Yes, they are that fricking stupid.

The police do not institute the system.

Its systemic and probably largely unconscious. It's our laws that basically criminalize being poor.

The after someone is arrested and they can't post bail, then they lose their jobs and potentially their housing, children, etc.

I was a the probation & parole office a couple of weeks ago and gentleman that had just gotten out of jail told me he was coming from the DMV. His licensed expired while he was incarcerated so he was slapped with some expensive fine for letting his license expire. While he was in state custody.

If he couldn't pay the fine, but still drove to work and got caught, that would be another arrest and he would be back in the system. We never stop punishing people who are convicted of crimes.

Likewise. Especially now that you’re middle aged!!!

American democrats are like a battered woman who refuses to leave her abusive partner. She defends him. She lies to herself about the man he is. She blames herself.

Absolutely. Our elected officials only care about enriching themselves and their friends. They would gladly watch all of us burn alive if it meant they could get an extra yacht or vacation home.

The border used to be 36 years of age, but people also used to retire at 55.

You should be somewhat sympathetic toward anti government protests, I would think.

Me: yes, I would, why are you bringing up race? Youre obssessed with identity.

Cubbies: No, its you that obsessed with identity!

Me: Then being white or black doesn't matter

Cubbies: None of that matters to me!

Yes, it’s that damn frustrating.

Summed up beautifully.

I guess you're ignoring the many, many pages of this thread where I argued against prolonged pre-trial detention for everyone without mentioning race.

Why the pushback on this guy?

Theres obvious frickery going on...

quote:

undreds of rioters have been charged, convicted and sentenced for joining the mob attack on the U.S. Capitol. Unlike their cases, Samuel Lazar's appears to have been resolved in secret — kept under seal with no explanation, even after his release from prison.

Lazar, 37, of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, was arrested in July 2021 on charges that he came to the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, dressed in tactical gear and protective goggles, and used chemical spray on officers who were desperately trying to beat back the angry Donald Trump supporters.

There is no public record of a conviction or a sentence in Lazar's court docket.

But the Bureau of Prisons told The Associated Press that the man was released from federal custody this week after completing a sentence for assaulting or resisting a federal officer

This guy assaulted officers and had everything neatly wrapped. Hes probably an informant. Theres an obvious double standard.

If they did this to a thug from the inner city the aclu and every other organization would be up in arms.

This show there is 2 forms of justice.

This happens literally every day to average Americans. You just haven’t been paying attention.

Long stays in pre-trial detention strain Philadelphia prisons
