It got voted in with veto-proof votes, but some turncoats took money and switched after the veto.

The time after that, it got killed in committee. I expect this to happen again, possibly multiple times.

They had no reason to pass it a 2nd time because they knew Sloth would veto it again. Now it’s time to show if new guy wants to be a man of the people or just a pocket liner like all the rest

I’m glad the people are concerned about tackling the issues that truly matter in this state. We’re gonna do great guys!

Hopefully he gets it passed but has no impact on me. As a Veteran I don’t need a CC permit

I don't know why, but the committee it died in was made up of mostly democrats. If that's the only committee it can be brought up in, I don't like its future chances.

Sorry, I tried to look it up and couldn't find it.

Like nobody is carrying that wants to carry a firearm? CC makes the bottom of the list for problems in Louisiana. Let’s see if he can attract industry to the state for starters, and retain a competent, educated workforce.

This is why we are last in everything. It’s not that difficult to get a concealed carry permit if you are a law abiding citizen in La. Why are people so worried about getting governor who will allow constitutional Carry?

You shouldn't have to get a permit in the first place. That's why we are last on everything. Govt always has to get it's cut. Pretty sure we're one of the only states to require a license to be a florist. Stupid shite like that.

The sheriff's and all law enforcement are against constitutional carry for some stupid reason. The state just elected a former police officer as governor, you really think he's going to let this go?

So needing a permit to carry a gun in public in La is why we have a horrible education system, a terrible business environment and roads that are falling apart?

Because they already have to deal with one of the most crime filled states in the country, so they probably don’t like the idea of more people walking around with guns and not being able to do anything about it.

Y’all do realize that this doesn’t just apply to good people? Odds are, you’ll just see more criminals walking around without even hiding the fact that they have a gun on them.

How long before our new Governor makes this happen?

Your governor can change you constitution? I don't think I am comfortable with that.

Why would anyone want to pay for a permit to use a Constitutional right?

Yes, it's exactly why.

But it does just apply to law abiding citizens. They are the only ones going through the work for a permit. You really think the felons illegally carrying are going to take a concealed carry class and get fingerprinted? A concealed carry permit is literally just a tax on law abiding citizens, if you can't see that then your just dumb. There really isn't another way to put it.

I'm going to say it again, because a state has constitutional carry for THEIR CITIZENS does not confer the same rights upon you as a citizen of another state.

You may beat the wrap, but you may not beat the ride. Do you think you running your mouth about Constitutional Carry in DeKalb county, GA, is going to keep you from getting put in cuffs as a Louisiana citizen?

I'm not concerned about a MS State Trooper pulling me over somewhere north of Jackson on the Interstate.

Because you want to put undue hardships on law abiding citizens?

What is “undue hardship” pertaining to with getting a $125 permit? Again, like the guy I responded to said, how about our politicians make us a more business friendly state so our people can afford their $125 permit?

I've been carrying all day. I don't need a damn permit!
Permit me to exercise my constitutional right.
