In central Alabama. One level, 1,400 square ft. Should be easy work. Slab, only two steps (if that matters to the a/c guy, idk).

I just got a quote in the New Orleans area last week for a new American Standard 2.5 ton one-stage A/C including all parts and labor for $6,500. I hope that helps.

$2000 a ton so expect $5000 for good name brand, no name brands will be a little cheaper but not by much

I just had a 3.5 ton install done for $4400.
That was not new but replacement of both inside and outside unit...Copper and duct work stayed same.

Not name brand.

6700 is suspiciously low. I just paid 9400 for a 5 ton on the north shore.

it was, I wrote the check, condensor and evaporator, pad, demo and haul away of old unit, installation, did not include any duct work or gas furnace (both were in good shape) and he did it on a Saturday

same guy did a 5 ton at my office that included electric heat , in a very difficult to get to area..that was 8K
