Both, the 4-3 defense is allowing us to get a but more pressure. Perkins is finding his spot. We are getting closer to the best players on the field. We were marginally better against missouri.

The other big thing is that what missouri and ole miss do offensively, we didnt see a similar style to that last night and wont aee it from alabama, or florida, or texas am.

Yeah, I'd say the defense is showing a little improvement at the line. The DB's are still wayyyyy below the standard we Tiger fans have been accustomed to.
Thank God, for a really good QB and a talented offense that can score and demoralize an opposing defense!

One thing that happened for possibly the first time all season is that #24 actually turned around to defend a pass and almost made an interception. I have been screaming at him on my TV all the way in Abu Dhabi all season as he never turns around, and a few times balls were under thrown and hits him in between the 2 and 4. SO frustrating. But its not only him, they all do it but he is the ring leader of not turning around.

When the WR eyes start to get big, turn the fcuk around!!!

Maybe. Maybe not
Auburn had less than 300 yards passing for the season going into the game.
They are horrible.

Both. But notice the DB’s were much improved. IMO, the DL play is helping the DB’s. One more practice game, a bye week, and then we get to see if there is true improvement.

Auburn’s offense is terrible. Much like our secondary.

Did Meeks play at all yesterday?

The line was much better. But AU’s offense is pretty bad.

No they won’t. They would have two SEC losses to our one. If we end up with the same amount of SEC losses as them they would be co-champs and perhaps the team that goes to the ship depending on tiebreakers.

Auburns O line is weak. However, our D line really played their best game! Maybe we're turning the corner on the defense.

so serious question: how did this happen?? Someone fall asleep at the recruiting wheel?

Yes. Corey Raymond, who to a lot of people on here still seemed bum to have let go for some reason.

They had not thrown for 100 yards in 4 games? I think the graphic said that was a 20 year record?
Let’s not get too excited here. Great win and showing (again) by the offense but our DBs are really, really bad.

With our O, if we get 3 or more stops per game we will win 90% of the time

This is key. If the D gets 3-4 stops a game, we win. That and don’t go for it on 4th down until necessity dictates. Possessions per game are pretty much set with the new clock rules.

Ole Miss will lose a couple more conference games. Texas A&M and Georgia will knock them out of the West race.

Really Alabama is the only serious roadblock for LSU toward another west title. The A&M game is at home and I don't think they'll shut down Daniels again

Auburn is terrible. Our defense is not good but when you are playing out of position and missing tackles we looked totally incapable of being effective at all and that is simply not the reality.we have athletes. I think it’s a good indicator of how razor thin the margins are in this league and of how much of an impact can be made with small adjustments. We won’t be the 85 bears but to think that the guys we have recruited here are not better than giving up 1200 yards of offense in 2 weeks is not very objective. There’s bad and then there is set up to fail. We can at least be middle of the pack on coaching and effort alone.

Both. We’ve played two bad offenses in State and Auburn and we just physically beat them up and didn’t allow big plays.

But I also think the 2nd half last week was a turning point. Mizzou has a legitimately good offense with a couple of difference makers and we got the stops and turnovers needed to get a solid SEC win on the road. To me, this week showed growth, but last week was a better barometer.

This week will be interesting. Playing Army is a lesson in playing disciplined. That hasn’t been a strength of this defense, so hopefully we will see growth there, as well.

Both. LSU still has no clue on covering a tight end.
