What have you been reading or who have you been listening to?

The Balfour Declaration goes back to 1917 or so and set the stage for a Jewish state. In 1948, there were limits on the number of Jewish refugees, and there were negotiations with Egypt and other Arab states. The Jewish people escaping from Europe weren’t just dumped on Palestine ( which merely describes a region and not a formal state). The

Both sides commit atrocities.

This moral equivalency is wrong! Israel undoubtedly has killed innocents, but always as collateral damage. They attack Hamas or Hezbollah, and someone nearby gets hurt or killed. Hamas kills innocents intentionally.

This kind of thinking is why America is in 30 trillion debt and Europe is overrun with rapedugees. Keep it up

The world realized that something must be done to accommodate the Jews escaping from the horrors of the Holocaust. Cultural and religious history influenced the location of Israel. Hamas’s agenda has little or nothing to do with the plight of the Palestinian people. Its agenda is to kill as many Jews as possible. It always has been.
Many Jews as possible.

It didn’t trigger me, I just think it’s important for us to keep track of who we’re talking to and why, and to do best not to let over generalization slip up on us. Believe me, yours is but a tiny example of a much more significant issue amongst us, most often evidenced by introductory language like “this board” yadda yadda. I bet it’s an accurate statement that “if you don’t know who you’re talking about, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Just general observation there, not directed specifically at you. And we agree on your original point to begin with btw.

I promise you that Jews lived in that region before a single Muslim lived there.

Those pesky alliances. Always getting in the way of statements like this

If you’re a Christian, despite perverse theology about the modern state of Israel being a fulfillment of biblical prophecy that contaminates our culture, you have no obligation to them.

Those pesky cornerstones of faith. Getting in the way of opinions of those that don't share in that same faith.

How is biblical prophesy contrary to the faith that originated it?

The Church as established by Christ himself is Israel.

Whatever on earth are you talking about? Christ Church is the 'New Covenant' between God and all peoples who accept salvation through Jesus Christ. As far as God's actual physical presence (body, blood, soul, and divinity), He is present in the Eucharistic Bread (The Bread of Life) reposed in the Tabernacle of every Catholic Church in the world. His 'Holy Spirit' on the otherhand is in the Temple of His followers - which is their body - Do you not know that your bodies are Temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

Israel is just a place on the map where the Hebrews (aka Jews) settled after wandering for forty years in the desert. It's called the Holy Land because God himself, in the person of Jesus Christ, walked and died on one of its hills (Golgotha).

Quit muddying the waters.
