This is how you get things done! If you want a pay raise, give us what we want. Our grandchildren and children deserve to go to the best Private Schools!

Idk why they’d vote for it when both ways it cuts their job, but I’m all for it. Teachers bitch too much about pay for what the current results are.

Your private schools are still subsidized as a nonprofit & thru govt grants. Teachers also make less at private schools.

I don't think this is a fair statement. Sure, there are some out there that do this and honestly should not be in the education field, but there are a lot of good ones out there that are handcuffed doing their job effectively and efficiently due to stupid rules and guidelines. On top of that school boards tend to side with the parents on dumb things making it harder for the staff to do their jobs. You are seeing a lot of good teachers and staff just quit because of this and letting the kids get away with acting like assholes without repercussions. Who in their right mind would want to become a teacher nowadays with all this bullshite?

I teach and plan to get out soon. It's not worth the money. A few years ago, my salary was a comfortable living. Joe Biden and his flawed system has made what once was a comfortable salary, not worth it. I made less under Trump than I do now. After all expenses back then, I could pocket money into savings. Now? I almost have to dig into savings just to make end's meet.
Teaching isn't worth the stress anymore. Not that it ever was, but I'm done with it.

It’s a fair statement in the regards that results have in fact went down. Do all teachers complain? No. Will all teachers appreciate a raise? Yes. School boards do not side with parents and teachers have enormous leeway. I agree a lot of them are leaving and mostly the good ones, that’s a lot of professions these days though as they realize it’s not worth it. Your last point of who would want to become a teacher, will continue to lower results and those will want more money when they don’t deserve it.

Teachers shouldn't receive a dime in pay raises until 2 things happen.
1. Eliminate the requirement for a degree in education. There is absolutely zero evidence that such a degree makes you more qualified to teach than say, just having a degree in math, chemistry, etc etc.
2. Eliminate flat pay. There's no rational reason that the art teacher's pay scale is the same as the physics teacher's. It's utter silliness. You're basically forced to grossly overpay for one category of teacher in order to actually attract the other.

You had less taxes and less inflation under trump, so yes you did make more than you do now.

This isn’t explicit to only teachers.

I won’t disagree but this is because education has allowed so much government & politics in, which is mainly due to a majority of teachers being liberal.

3. Make them pay into social security and get rid of the bloated pension programs these teachers majorly benefit from.
You forgot this ^

This is correct. My wife has been a HS teacher for 8 years, and every year more pressure is put on the staff to simply pass kids. She is ready to quit because the admin basically told the teachers that if a kid fails, it is the teacher's fault not the kid's.

Nobody deserves private school. It's your job to teach your children, not the state's. That being said, anything that undermine's public education and teachers unions I'm for. Public school teachers are a plague on this country.

He shouldn't add teacher pay until they stop ignoring his CRT ban

Imagine the savings if you eliminated high school sports from the taxpayers who just want their kids to get a high quality education for a career, and not subsidize sports. Make parents who want their kids in sports pay to be in a league and the facilities for it.

I don't think he's talking about a subsidy. I think he's talking about a voucher (a refund on property taxes) which would allow the parent to choose the school rather than the government-mandated indoctrination camp.

I’ll give you this if you give me that is the worst fricking thing for this country with politics. It’s bullshite. That’s why this country is in shambles

They do. They also feel called to teach at private schools and appreciate not having to put up with the attitudes found in public schools.

What people don't realize will happen is these schools will accept anyone to start, then after the October 1 federal count the private schools will just kick out any student with a behavior problem. This is their advantage. At that point they get the funding for the student for the year, then kick them out and public schools have to accept them and offer the Free and Appropriate Public Education. It is why private schools don't have to have alternative schools.

Some teachers do suck; however, it is almost impossible for the good teachers to teach when there is no discipline taught at home and no support from the parent(s). Kids have always tried to get away with whatever they could, and, without support from home, the teachers can't teach and kids won't learn.
