Ok. Then for the sake of conversation I’ll concede the point.
Let’s say Israel is not one of the most well armed places on earth.
Tell me how it ends differently in an American suburb at that time of day and with that level of sophisticated attack? It’s pure fantasy that you’re espousing about dudes just instantly bolting up from bed and grabbing rifles. That’s not real life—and you know it.

It's true that if the war was already lost they could suppress rebellion—for a period of time, anyway. The point is that they would have a much harder time winning the war in the first place assuming the war took place on American soil. But two things about that:
1. The OP was talking about terrorist actions involving conventional tactics, not a war with China or Russia, not a chemical attack, not a biological attack, not a hippie slipping LSD into the water supply, etc.
2. Violent oppression of a population by a foreign power only works for so long when you're talking about 330 million people, most of whom did not grow up oppressed.
They better be prepared to basically double the population of the country with as many soldiers as they would need to bring over here to keep control for any significant length of time using tactics like that. 330 million is an awful lot of fricking people to torture into submission. Short term, sure. Long term, that's a different story.
