You’re the one complaining about how “try hard” it is champ. It’s a fun car to me. I have 3 others.

You’re not one of the old farts that owns one either champ, so clearly it’s above your pay grade.

This is the only thing that should matter. If you buy a corvette or any car so that you can be noticed, then you are doing it all wrong.

Let’s back up…

I think the design is try hard. I didn’t say people that own them are try hard

It’s overly exotic for a Chevy IMO.

I don’t thinks it’s ugly per se.

And I have two young boys and we have
A Honda Accord
A Honda Odyssey
And a 71’ mgb GT.
That me and my son can work on.

I don’t care about your pay grade, but I smell your insecurity

Yes, it’s my insecurity

As I said. People should be able to drive what they want, and appreciate that there’s people that love cars and it’s more than just a mode of transport.

Jeeps aren’t my thing, neither are mini vans but hey more power to you.

It hurt you, and you even added a laugh emoji.

I think your corvette is amazing…
And so are you

Explains the dislike of Vettes.

It didn’t hurt me, I just think someone who drives a Honda and owns an MG thinks a mid engined sports car is “try hard” as a bit ironic.

You’d probably think my other vehicles are extremely try hard.

That Subaru will still be running when that vette is in the junkyard…

I would be scared to own a mid-engine out of warranty.

Despite owning one myself, I agree. A car that looks like that shouldn’t have all the little plastic grilles and vents. All that stuff should be carbon fiber on a car that looks so exotic. It should be a $150,000+ car. I preferred my C7 Grand Sport and would’ve preferred continuing the classic Vette styling while adding a “Zora” supercar separate from the Vette. That being said, when they made it a full second quicker 0-60 without really increasing the price, I wasn’t going to pass it up. I still have my gripes when it comes to tracking it, but it’s certainly a rocket and looks amazing.

No worse to work on than any other cars these days. Everything’s coming out the bottom on any sports cars these days.

Here’s a lap when I was chasing a Nissan GTR & Cayman GT4…

All three of y’all need a lesson on finding a racing line. .

Jfwy that’s awesome and I love track days. I can’t recommend the EdgaAddicts days at COTA enough. It’s a stellar track.

Just curious how is the ownership. Got my annual bonus and a 2015 Subaru. Thinking of trading in to get a l1 vette

I haven't owned one but got a few laps in a Z51 and got to drive a Z06 on the street briefly.

Looks are subjective so if you like them it is a big bonus. It is the most exotic look you can buy off the showroom floor for the money.

In the performance department they are about as much track performance as you can get for the dollar, some flavors of Mustang and Camaro will beat the Z51 for example the 1LE Camaro is in a different zipcode on the track but it is a whole different animal on the road and by animal I mean feral.

It isn't the greatest daily driver but then again 2 seaters rarely if ever are. For what they are they are very good DDs.

There is really nothing much to directly compare them to. There are plenty of cars that do one thing or a host of things much better but basically all of them have significantly higher price tags. If you don't have another vehicle to drive then you really need to consider how well any mid-engine 2-seater will work for you. While I have what is essentially a 2 seater as a DD it could never be my only vehicle.

The only mid-engine car I would rather have close to the money would be a Cayman GTS 4.0 but they are 25% more money and a whole lot harder to buy.

That same discription was used way back when the C3 (1968) vette was introduced. What car produced in America came standard with all these items.
4 beam pop up headlights
Headlight washers
Fiber optic headlight, tail light, brake and license plate lamp monitors
Wipers hidden behind a pop up door
T-tops on coupe models
Removable rear glass window
Astro Ventilation, side window vents removed
Recessed door handles
Shoulder belts
And a vacuum system clearly designed by a crazed engineer.

Sidepipes were not available as an option till the next year and only that year (C3).

Though the chassis and suspension was a carry over, the body was a radical departure from the C2.

I refuse to hate on an interior that has dong cut outs in the seat. That has to improve ball sweat control.

I’m poor, so I have a 19 year old corvette.
