Some of my fondest memories are from the going out of business sale at the K mart on College Drive circa ‘96. It was absolute chaos

The icees and popcorn were good but most of what they sold was cheap knockoff crap.

Yes, yes. K-Mapart. Always found in the seediest parts of town. Fond memories...

"Attention K-Mart shoppers. Blue light special on Isle 14!"

I would find the best toys for my kids there at the cheapest prices.
Once found these airplane big wheels for $5. I bought all 10. Gave one to every kid on the street. The boys rode those things until the wheels literally fell off.

I worked in sporting goods while in college at a Kmart. The store manager made $80K plus bonuses. The sporting goods manager mad almost $60k. Good paying jobs in the 80s.
I did learn to drill put bowling balls.

Smell of popcorn when you walked in and coke slushie. Strong kid memories.

that commercial cracks me up. but I am easily amused, o there's that.
but no, I don't miss the Kmart. I'd rather pay more money, deal with fewer people and be in a more desirable part of town.

Blue light specials at the deli were this little kids dream. Loved their sub back when I was little.

My dad left me at a Kmart on Florida Boulevard. I walked out in front and looked through the big plate glass windows to Florida Boulevard and saw him driving down the road.
Obviously my mother sent him back to pick me up and he was not happy

My grandma would get me popcorn and a frozen coke when we went.
I remember thinking stores were kind of dirty, even as a kid.

Dad has a Marlin 336 he bought from Kmart in the late 80s. Used to have a legit sporting goods dept

My Mom retired with 28 years. She worked mainly in the Grille. Good food and blue light specials included submarine sandwiches for .25 cents.

Nope. Might as well have been shopping in Hudson's or a Big Lots. They didn't care about the shopping experience
