Israel has to destroy Hamas. That much is certain. But Hamas is a merely symptom of the disease, rather than the disease itself. The truth is the average Palestinian, from early childhood, is taught Jews are subhuman dogs and it’s their duty to dedicating their life to (1) destroy the state of Israel and (2) slaughter every Jewish man, woman, and child in Israel. That radicalization of the Palestinian people from their early childhood is why Hamas exists. Hamas is the culmination of the hate Palestinians are taught.
That’s the real problem. The hate and literal thirst for a second Jewish holocaust permeates Palestinian society. If every member of Hamas were to drop dead today, another Hamas would rise up to take its place immediately because of the visceral hate for Jews that’s rampant among the Palestinian people. So, that leads to the ultimate question…
How does Israel coexist with a people whose stated goal is the genocide of Israelis? Until an answer to this question is found, the cycle of slaughter we’re watching play out right now will only continue. And I’m afraid Western sensibilities are too fragile to stomach what will ultimately have to happen to bring about a lasting peace.

There really is seemingly no way forward. The West Bank is at least somewhat functional, with seeds of a functioning society.
Gaza is 2.3 million person terrorist factory. It is, quite literally, it’s only export.
Israel can’t live with Gaza as currently constructed, but also can’t survive the aftermath of it being eliminated.
Such a mess. A lot of people are soon to die, and Israel will be a worse country in the after math of this event for some time.
