If this developer gets these tax breaks, he has to be one of the best connected guys in town.

Where in the world would this be located? I can’t think of any vacant land near there.

Either way, your voice doesn’t matter. The council will approve it with no questions asked.

Don't these special interest districts almost always have a tax/millage associated with them?

A spokesperson with the Aztek Cove Development said they are constructing a multi-purpose business complex next to New Rising Sun Baptist Church on Highland Rd.

That is all around high end residential neighborhoods and Highland is only 2 lanes there.

The traffic at that intersection of Highland/Perkins/Highlandia and I-10 in the afternoons rivals a good clusterfrick on the MS River Bridge. Not to mention NOTHING has been done to address drainage and flossing in this area, exacerbated by dropping more concrete down.

So tired of the Metro Council and so-called “Planning Commission” rubber stamping everything even the shadiest of developers brings them. They never say no.

Holy crap, right THERE?!? Crazy enough, I passed by there recently & thought about that church & those shitty houses right there. How in the world has no one offered either top dollar for that land?

No shite! I can’t think of a better place in the city that would run smoother than here if the lights were synchronized correctly. For a brief second earlier in the year, they were and it was glorious.
