Penn is not an SEC caliber LB. We are now seeing why they moved HP4 to inside. It was necessity. We have no LB depth.

Time for them to sit. Bring on the freshman. Half that team needs to sit. I've seen better play in high school.

No doubt a part of it is scheme but a really bog part of it is effort.

I know it's a typo ('bog' instead of 'big'), but sometimes it seems like the D is playing in one.

Stamps should be benched for that effort. Dude is literally jogging the entire play.

He did this several times in the game. On one play, Ole Miss throws a swing pass which should have been for a 1-2 yard gain but Stamps just casually escorts the receiver down the sideline for almost 8 yards.

Hardly the effort you'd expect from someone who fought for his offer at camp and was seeing his first action.

the go ahead touchdown was...bad. when receiver for OM, no. 9 catches flanker screen, the defender covering him immediately closes the gap before the receiver crosses the line of scrimmage. the defender is 3 yards directly in front of the receiver. a second defender slips a poor attempt at a block and gets into position to make the tackle. the receiver is bracketed by 2 defenders who are each about 3 yards away from the receiver. the receiver jukes inside and defender no. 1 stumbles back and towards the juke, he continues to reel back and away from the action and never recovers and winds up blocked and on his back in the endzone almost 10 yards away from the receiver. defender no.2 who has slipped a blocker to gain a good tackling position is the victim of the receiver's second juke, a very subtle juke and winds up making a feeble arm tackle attempt. the receiver prances into the end zone. it's difficult and soul crushing just grasping the physics of the play

the names and numbers of the defenders have been withheld to protect the guilty

I’m pretty sure that if the lack of effort is obvious to y’all then the coaches addressed it and made it known that they will bench whoever does it next game and they probably told them they’d replace them with Walk ons if it gets to that point . I’m sure the game tape put some guys in a position they don’t ever want to be in again

SR actually had a pretty good day overall, I’m not sure what you watched. Probably 1-2 bad plays and judged his whole game accordingly.

They probably saw him chasing a WR that scored a TD on a blown coverage on the crossing pattern and blamed Sage since he actually tried to make a play.

The defense was so bad that the closest player to the ball carrier/receiver at times was one covering on the other side of the field having to react downfield after 15-20 yards was already gained.
