THE TEXAS GENTLEMEN
NEIL WERRIES & ELSAH
HITCHHIKER
THOUGHTS OF MARY
I understand there are some tickets left so get them while you can.

I just did Fete Du VOID in Oakdale, which was great great great.
Probably will try to do this fest as well. Love supporting the local stuff.

Great lineup, should be a fun time, but I think they really overpriced this festival.

$70 with a 1,000 ticket limit is overpriced??

Kingbob has always been a poor mouth.

Yes. Think of how most concerts are priced right now. That’s more than the price Jack White charges for a show at the Fillmore. That’s more than seeing David Chappelle. That’s more than tickets to Jazz Fest were to see the Rolling Stones. That’s almost double the price for Hogs for the Cause.
I would pay up to $40 for that lineup at that location, especially if we get good weather Saturday which is likely. $70 is pretty steep unless it comes with more amenities than I’m aware of.
And yes, I always have been a poor. I rarely ever go to a show that costs more than $30/ticket

feels like a fair price for BR. Not easy to put on that kind of event in town and go low on tickets. Especially since support of live music is tepid. Feels like true music supporters have to pay a bigger share to ensure these kinds of events happen.

How is the parking going to work?
Posted on 10/2/23 at 2:20 pm to Pledge
Why not put it somewhere that holds more than 1,000 people - there's literally hundreds of open areas in a 25 mile radius of Baton Rouge

Maybe but this place is dead center of BR. Where would you suggest?
There was a country fest at Lamar Dixon a few years back and it was very poorly attended.
There are lots of parking areas in fields at the venue and will likely be directed.

Tickets have been on sale for months and it's still not sold out

It's on a horse farm with plenty of open space.

If you put it somewhere bigger, you can sell tickets for less - the price is obviously part of the issue to some.
The law of supply and demand.
I hope it's a success - charge what you want, but I'm just throwing questions out there

bob, none of what you said makes any sense as you are comparing acts in venues that hold 12k-250k people.
with fees, it's 100% more to see jack white (it's also one act at a 2000 person venue vs 7 on a fest bill)

chapelle tickets with fees were well over $100. in a venue holding 12k?

you're comparing jazz fest to a small festival in BR limited to 1000 tickets. yeah jazz fest is $80 for one day and it's great but that isn't even comparable because of the capacity.

again, the capacity for hogs is what? 20k per day?

you do you but I think this event will be well attended with the lineup, perfect weather, and LSU football being an away game.

because it will likely only sell around 700-800 tickets. it's not a bro country festival

it's getting better but it also depends on the act.

700-800 is well attended? That's capacity of House of Blues - maybe a little bigger than the Varsity - again, best of luck but 800 people festivals don't last
They have a lot of sponsors, that may be the only plus.

side note, this is the former bandito fest that folks are continuing on since eric passed away. they got NMAS and duane betts. two good regional acts. elsah and hitchiker are also great local bands that fit the southern rock and roll vibe they're going for.
hopefully it gains steam and keeps going and they can get bigger acts.

for a private type festival in it's first year, sure. I hope it draws more people than that. bandito was a free festival on north blvd back in 2019 and had sponsors for it. that had thousands in attendance but it was set downtown and it was free. different strategy for this one.

I was looking forward to going but it’s my kids bday so that nixed my plans to attend.

Their website doesn't list the band schedule. Gretna Fest is $30. Probably not going to make this one.
