Tim Wakefield, the last real knuckleballer, dead at 57

I apologize if it’s been posted, but I searched.
And apparently Curt Shilling let slip that he was battling cancer to the media.
I’ll never forget when he was pitching in the 2004 ALCS and the Red Sox had to hire Doug Mirabelli for one game to catch Tim because of how crazy his pitches were.
Even yankee fans mourn the loss of one of the great ones.

Well, there was RA Dickey, but Wakefield was great for a while. This is a shame. Always liked him. RIP Wake.

Never have understood why more pictures that are having arm troubles don't switch to the knuckle and try to preserve their time in the league.

It was pretty amazing to see MSM rally to denounce the report bc it wasn’t authorized by Wakefield.
