No. Sometimes I need Percocets for pain. My Doctor will write what I need.
I have used 22 of them in the last three years. They know I don’t abuse them. I don’t see how people take them for fun.

yep, percocet is almost impossible to get. govt ration is what they keep telling me.
It’s only part of the problem. Drugs that fall under the controlled substances label have been rationed for a long time, but the Feds have further clamped down to prevent abuse.
Part of the problem is that the gov’t estimates how much of a certain drug will be needed, and allows for that amount to be manufactured. If demand exceeds their estimates, then shortages occur. Pharmacies can also be limited by the amount they can prescribe. So even if there is supply, pharmacies may not be able to order or dispense certain medications.
If there is a hiccup anywhere in the process, then it has a huge ripple effect. A manufacturer might have a problem with quality, or with one of there suppliers, or ingredients, and has to shut down production for a time. If that happens, another company can’t simply step in and start producing more.
Pharmacy A can’t fill more prescriptions because Pharmacy B across town is out.

I have noticed that there is a problem. You can't just call and they tell you over the phone if they have the medication. They won't you to come there and talk to them face-to-face.

Opiate junkies ruin it for everyone, yet they can always find their stuff on the street.
I hate taking the crap and don't take it except in very exceptional circumstances, but I have a small stash in case I get another kidney stone.

I do not claim to understand drug addiction, but I do sympathize with people who if they find it readily available, will abuse it. Unfortunately, there are those who truly need pain medication occasionally, know better than to abuse it, but now cannot get it because of the abuse and the overreaction to same. In England, you can buy codeine and paracetamol combinations over the counter in much the way you can buy pseudoephedrine in the US. It is too bad it cannot be done here for those who need it for acute or chronic pain. I guess people in the US would buy twenty boxes at once and kill themselves by poisoning their liver with acetaminophen.
