Does anyone have a clip of the “horse collar” penalty on Williams that was actually a face mask? I looked on line and can’t find one.

It wasn’t a horse collar you’re right and it was a slight face mask but it looked like he mostly got shoulder.

Didn’t matter either way bc it was all when he was oob anyways

From my perspective, it looked like the defender hit the daily double on that one and somehow did both

Thought it was a late hit out of bounds when I first saw it.

He got yanked backwards like a horse collar, but on replay, he did have a portion of the mask, so ended up being a decent call…

1 hand was on the facemask, the other hand was pulling down on the back, upper part of the jersey. If you are seeing it as a facemask, you are looking at the wrong hand.

The tackler had the facemask in the front but his backside hand grabbed the edge of Williams shoulder pads and pulled him down backwards a la horse collar tackle…

IMO. It was actually both and a late hit OOB. I just had a “friend” that’s an Arky fan that wanted to argue it with me and say it was a face mask on Williams. Need new friends, I know!??

Williams did have his hand in the defender’s facemask, if I remember correctly. But that is a call you rarely see, unless the runner pulls the defender down by the facemask.

This will get called 9 out of 10 times even if it isn’t technically a horse collar tackle.

This was from a 2017 article. I guess it still applies. Horse-collar doesn't have to actually have hand inside shoulder pads.

Horse-collar tackles: A penalty for a horse collar will now include the nameplate area of a player's jersey. Previously, the rule applied to the inside collar of the shoulder pad and jersey. "The committee recognizes that on occasion a tackler grabs the nameplate area and jerks the ball carrier down, with the same effect as if his grip was on the collar."

I thought the defenders right hand was inside of the shoulder pads on his chest and left hand was on the jersey in the back.

play at the 4:50 to 5:15 mark of this highlight video. Includes play and replays... decide for yourself

In God we trust, all others bring data. You will see how he was yanked backwards from a grasp of the shoulder pads on the back.

correct, he grabbed jersey on sleeve and held the shoulder pad, the force of the tackle being pulled down was mostly face mask, clearly he pulled him down my the mask
